You miss out on the really good smut. Or something.

Right, so I'm out of practice, but what I've found is this:

Sweet (which is something, considering it's hilarious Wash and Jayne) Firefly ficlet from [livejournal.com profile] alizarin_nyc. Great Balls of Fire, for likeadeuce. Jayne, Wash and alcohol. Yes. Worksafe.

From [livejournal.com profile] janedavitt, Eclipsed series Part 9, after which we all fear the awkwardness of being on the brink of a hard conversation. Strength, Jane! Writing hurts! This bit is only R rated, since the boys are at a turning point and trying to stay clothed and civil.

[livejournal.com profile] surrealphantast is gauging interest in an slash/het/multiples inclusive STFU and Just Write PORN! Stargate ficathon. Go, opinion, be merry.

MEH. My chest cold, I fear, has regrouped and become a sinus infection. I'm not sure, the jury's still out, but I fear. Also? My froggy voice is preventing me from following up on outstanding job applications during my hour or so of really feeling pretty decent first thing in the morning, and OMG I want to talk to these people.

But, on the upside, I did not get up before dawn this morning. Go me!

So cheer me, my people. Recommend some fanfiction from the last month or so. Lately all I see are NaNoRiMo stats and I gotsta get back in the swing...

{{hugs}} on the cold and applications front. If you need somewhere to vent about the latter... go right on ahead!

On the fics front... Despite the fact that a certain silver haired fox and his (equally gorgeous) team from the Navy Yard have taken up residence in the ol' grey matter... I have been reading SG-1 fic!

The results from the [livejournal.com profile] sg1_five_things are usually very good reading every two weeks or so.

Berty [livejournal.com profile] bertybertle wrote a corking SG-1 stranded story for [livejournal.com profile] saladscream's b'day while you were away. Called 'Belonging' (http://bertybertle.livejournal.com/5577.html) it is a thing of beauty.

Talking of things of beauty and wandering over to my more 'normal' frames of references... (namely TV and film)

Torchwood has started and it is indeed a thing of great wonder and beauty. Captain Jack and he is... different. Just be careful of your heart. he'll still break it for you and you'll be glad of it.

Jane Eyre has been just bloody wonderful. Is only 4 episodes long but it could have been 8 and I still would have enjoyed every single moment of it. Wonderful stuff!

Children of Men is the kind of SF film I think you'd get a great kick out of. Hasn't been released in the US yet (ask Mabi - he knows these things!) but when it does... go see!

Just bloody glad to have you back, m'dear!

Can I just apologise for my complete and utter disregard for the english language in the last post?!

Brain is doing warp speed, fingers are still on sublight!

Heartfelt apologies!

Aw, thanks for the welcome, and Berty's story sounds marvelous. I shall read as soon as I've had a cup of tea to jump start the brain (coffee isn't good for sick brains, only tea will serve).

I remember when the Five Things comm started, and I was just too frazzled to participate, so how glad am I that it took off without any help from me? Thiiiiis glad!

Will look for all recommended shows, but am currently a gazillion episodes behind on Dr. 10 already... how can a girl keep up? Good thing I have yooooou.

Happy to be back (though I would be happier if I didn't have this cold.)
