I had one fellowship turned in yesterday, a much more involved one that will be mailed the day I'm back but REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE TODAY OMG. Then an improptu software meeting/conference call with one of the companies in a bidding war for our affections and the morning is *gone* and I'm leaaaaaaving tonight!

I'M LEAVING. That's right. Goin' home, and am very excited about it, but I don't want to still be doing work while I'm there, seriously. NO WORKING VACATIONS. Those are bad. Vacations are for chillin' and fanfic.

Not that I'm not deeply in love with my new city (because I so am), but I'm looking forward to seeing my crazy family. I do adore them too.

So, why, you may ask, am I mucking around on LJ? *head/desk*

Enough eating, back to typing.

ETA: just in case you were wondering whether my Negligent Thesis Advisor could still manage to arse me over? Yes, yes he can. RAT. BASTARD.

Working vacation? ::gasps with horror:: WTF is the point of going then? I'm so with you. Go home! Have a blast! Enjoy yourself way too much, so that you'll look forward to getting back to work so that you can catch up on your sleep. That's what I do. *g*

(I found several old letters of recommendation, changed "Ms." to "Dr." and updated the intro with my graduation dates. Viola! Instant letter of rec from the Bastard. I WIN, even if I don't get that fellowship.)

I managed to (pretty ethically, I think) do my graduate advisor's work for him, so it at least got done.

And I found out that the fellowship I applied for last week went to another postdoc, but eh. Win some, lose some.

I think I've earned a just and thorough sleep tonight.
