May. 21st, 2007 05:48 pmHeya there, fandom,
How goes it? I'm here in Cali, yet again a few shades darker in the skin than I was before going out in a boat race (I get so high paddling endurance races on the ocean, so very very high,) with two of my favorite people in the world napping on my living room couches while I sneak a minute to LJ. I really do love them, and they really did come visit very, very early in my tenure here, which led to the ying and yang situation of my being still very fresh and interested in the local touristy activities, but also a little stressed out about taking time off work so darn quickly, but there you go.
In other news, the Remix story takes shape in my head. I am somewhat fascinated with this story, and with the way it's spiraled out of the original (very, very good) story I'm remixing. My betas are split on this story: one who has heard the details is apparently as intrigued as I am by the story I could tell, the other who got only bare bones is pointing out to me that I do need to reference at least half the story I'm remixing. That won't work in terms of timing, but I shall reference at least half of the plot points, so I'm hoping that works. It's the story I have time enough to fall in love with: it's the first story I read from my remix author and it's an ambitious story to muck around with.
So, as a remixer possibly daring the rules, with great respect for the author I'm remixing let me say this to whoever drew my stories for the remix: go absolutely wild. You're remixing a story of mine? Then I will give you some proprietary rights. It's your story too, so remix it in a way that fascinates you. I hope you end up writing a story you love.
In other news, I intend to find some time to actually write that story soon. Like, wow, soon, I hope. Sometimes you lose the momentum if you don't get it down.
This concludes your weekly-ish check in.

Date: 2007-05-22 01:05 am (UTC)I keep seeing other people talk about their remix and getting worried I'm not being...ambitious enough with mine. But your ideas sound cool. I hope you find time to jot some of them down soon.
Keep having a great time and I'll keep looking forward to the weekly-ish check in :)

Date: 2007-05-22 01:21 am (UTC)I'm happy to hear that you're still loving The Life. *g* You must go out onto the ocean every chance you get. There's nothing like it. I go beneath the water, SCUBA, and get this zen-high every single time.
Good luck with the writing! {{{{{Minxy}}}}}

Date: 2007-05-23 03:17 am (UTC)I always knew that once I lived by the ocean I could never move inland again. I'm not kidding, it will break my heart to move farther away, like, ever.
Really must start writing.
