Lo there. You may not recognize me in my fabulous shades and big girl clothes (also known as: the same clothes I've always worn, only slacks or knee-length straight skirts instead of jeans, and black ballet flats sometimes). I've discovered something, though, with this whole living in South Central Coast thing-- if I don't wear shades, I get a headache. Bye-bye cute wire frame glasses! I must wear my contacts and have access to my shades (for I've lost the little clippy things that attach to my actual glasses.)
I'm always losing sunglasses. I forsee problems.
Anyway. I'm here, I'm doing great, I'm very tired from having so many fantastic things going on.
kres, the incredibly lovely thing that she is, got me down here and completely unpacked with a mild sunburn on my collarbones and an appreciation for spending $80 filling one's gas tank.
vaznetti and
cofax7 wined and dined us, at
taselby's I rediscovered a long forgotten ability to balance stuff on my head (also, there was cake).
And now I'm here, I'm working, I traded in the truck for my own little car and managed to score a weekend all to myself in the house since the housemates are all off traveling for work. K will be up to help me organize my stuff in the garage, and I'm doing a test run on the bike paths tomorrow to see about how much time I'll need to get to work.
That's the state of me. There's this big T.V. upstairs, so I may (*gasp*) go up and watch the Tao of Rodney and the Shroud tonight. I have nothing fannish to offer except a reminder that if you've seen through the Shroud, you can now read my Jack/Daniel fic, YAY! Desert Made of Glass, Jack/Daniel, rated R-ish.

Date: 2007-05-05 02:19 am (UTC)I so hear you on the sunglasses - Los Angeles hooked me and New Orleans signed the deal.
I hope the good so far is a sign of things to come and everything else turns out great!

Date: 2007-05-05 03:11 am (UTC)You're alive! Yay!
Sunburn? Not yay. (Yeah, I know too.)
Rest is good, though. And sleep. Also, TV doesn't hurt, either (Deen...), but in small doses.
Also: thank you for your incredible patience with driving me to the airport. I didn't manage to thank you profusely for that, because I was too stressed that I'd miss the flight, and I'm terribly terrible when I'm stressed, but you were completely AWESOME, what with the driving me through the whole Sunset Boulevard and to the airport and not once freaking out [openly] about my
backseatshotgun driving, you are THE AWESOMEST!alive for the win!
Date: 2007-05-05 05:53 am (UTC)And, don't mention it about the airport drive. We all have our quirks, and I figured out pretty early on that the backseat driving was less a statement about my driving than nervousness, so by Wednesday I found it... cute? Or at least not frustrating, except that I couldn't help with the nerves.
So it was less of a monumental task than you imply. :) I remain in your debt for the company and the help driving and the excellent suggestions for stops along the way and HELP LIFTING BOXES, OMG.
omg what happened to Dean? Don't tell me. omg Deaaaaannnnnn.....
I need sleep. Brain got a *workout* today.

Welcome back to the internet! You were missed. {{{{{Minxy}}}}}
