Jack and Daniel in a gorgeous AU of Season 1. Heady nostalgia in a series of vignettes that break your heart in the way the team comes together as much as they can and fall so far short of what we saw them become. Road to Nowhere is a dark_gate fic that almost killed its author, but it's a wonderful breaky ride as a reader. from princessofg, NC-17, Jack/Daniel and Sam.

I love ana_grrl's Mal/Simon fics, but I didn't know that nestra had ever written any! This is lovely angsty tired Simon and funny captainy confused angsty Mal and a caper gone slightly astray, and it's lovely. Dangerous Cargo, by nestra, NC-17, Firefly.

In a Atlantis offering, Niannah (at niannahfic) wrote a lovely AMTDI with John (leader) and Ronon (cause he's tall.) Ronon is marvelously matter of fact and Rodney is hilariously bad at the best friend 'you're being a twat' talk. Propitiation, NC-17, John/Ronon. I don't know why I don't read Ronon more often. I love it when he's written well.

If you miss John/Rodney like a visceral thing, though, try a little Aliens Made Them Cuddly fic from runpunkrun-- this is unabashadly adorable, people, so it would work well as a dark fic balm. I'm just saying. The Slave Trade, PG, John/Rodney. Warning: cuddling.

Also, in one of the more difficult to categorize fics I've ever recc'd: paian took a step left and wrote a scene of dialog between two unnamed SG-1 characters in some kind of love triangle and channeled Becket while doing it. I'd say it creeps me out, but my brain went to a wondertwins place with it almost immediately and that almost always has a calming effect. waiting for g/o/d/o/t, Sam/Daniel(/Jack) or Jack/Vala(/Daniel) or possibly others that would make my brain hurt to think about too much.

Folk seem to be hitting some interesting writing blocks lately, which is funny to me because I seem to have become unnaturally prolific lately. I have the long thing I am apparently already writing, plus the Jack/Daniel piece that I've been scheming to write for ever back with beta comments, and an Unending Teal'c fic that I seem to be polishing up. I mean. Three fics? Going at one time? This is me we're talking about here, and it's freaking me out, dude.

Also, I'm watching too much Supernatural. I'd blame Kres, but I'm hoping she'll let me cook for her this week, so I'll try not to incur too much bad karma just in case.

Also, that name meme? There's no point in tagging me, right? Because my handle is defined every time you see a userpic, right? Minx means a pert, saucy, impudent girl. I aspire, oh yes, I do.

Also, I am pleased to say that I am pleased to be employed. I apparently took enough time off. Yes.

Congrats on the job! I don't know about taking enough time off, though. Is any such thing as enough? Look at all the fun you had! Still, I guess it's time to pay off those bills. *g* ::hugs you::

I wasn't sure there would ever be enough time off, not even when my soon-to-be-new-boss called and asked whether I could decide by the end of the month. But then I thought about it, milled around a bit more and realized... I was getting bored. Not in a day or two kind of way, but in a bone-deep way. That was a sign that my energy stores were filled up, thanks, and it was time for a challenge.

I've loved everything I've done with my time, even the sleeping in late and lazing about the house all day parts, but apparently seven months is enough, yes.

And a girl does need to pay her bills. And no matter how wonderful the parents, at some point you get antsy living with them (even if they are fantastic for letting you live there rent free in exchange for manual labor.) I want my owwwwnnnnn kitcheeeeennnnnnnn.... I want to put up my fabulous Art from Around the World! I want!
