I'm gone for a few short days...

and there is so much to tell you, omg! I mean fannishly, of course.
There's
3_ships, which I've written for and I'd be tempted to offer cookies or ficlets to anyone who guessed which was me, if I were not so knackered from writing that fic. So I'll just point to the master list, which contains LOTS of yummy threesome (in some cases just attraction, but in some cases explicit) goodness. I Saw Three Ships 2006.
The fic that was written for me, for example, is Cam/Daniel/Sam in spirit. There is this extraordinary thing, though, where Vala and Teal'c are there too, and so important, but also, so different. I love this Cameron; he's got the fanboy, he's got the enthusiasm and the attraction, but he's also got some cards up his sleeve, and the little tension he's got going with Daniel is played to marvelous effect in this. Five by Five has spot on characterization, fantastic momentum, and amazing lyricism. LOVED IT. And someday I will figure out who wrote it, yes I will.
Other than
3_ships, I give you (hope I don't forget anything):
MAL/SIMON. OMG I love that pairing, and it's hard to do, apparently, though they are always treading that line between fighting and foreplay in canon.
alizarin_nyc has a voice for Firefly like none other I've seen, though, from Inara/Jayne on, she can sell any pairing. And this is one I was predisposed to love: Time to Rise, PG, post-apocolyptic in a Mal sort of way.
In the category of 'femmeslash never gets much feedback, so please talk to the authors' is
mmmchelle's gentle, patient moment out of time for Sam and Elizabeth. So patient with each other, those women. Nos Morituri, not worksafe, Sam/Elizabeth, SG-1/SGA.
Y'all know how I have that thing about slash writers who manage to write just amazing stories and intimacy without every having their guys really say anything? I absolutely love that. It's so impressive. Anyway, this is the highlight for me of
briar_pipes' Words, Words, Words, though other people are pointing to the body modification challenge and John's writing on himself. John is pretty, I will grant you, but besides that, let me point out that he's still really, truly John. Not worksafe, John/Rodney.
Also John/Rodney, and others, is an extraordinary half-step off AU that could so *be* canon. Also, I totally want it to be canon. Nay, may write letters to someone about it (wot? It explains John!) Came a Traveler by
threnodyjones. Seriously recommended, and... you know, I think it's maybe an R rating, but shockingly (for the level of intimacy achieved) I think it's worksafe.
For something not worksafe, I give you
thegrrrl2002's waking up PWP called Encroachment. John/Rodney. Not worksafe, as promised.
More love for the year in review fic memes:
trinityofone's X-men AU for Atlantis for the superpowers challenge. X is subtle and if you know the movies as well as Atlantis, figuring out the superpowers that go with each character is both challenging and squee-worthy. PG, gen.
While we're in crossovers, this made me speechless: Hailing From Parts Unknown, by
sister_wolf X-Men/Dark Angel with the rather lucious combination of Logan/Alec. I mean... Not worksafe.
peanutbutterer's John and Elizabeth fic is the stuff personal fanons are made of: funny and quirky and them just coping even as they do the crazy stuff they do. Flight and Fancy, gen, friendship, G.
Smuttly unity (raqs' attention is particularly solicited, kaythanksbye)!
carron plays the awkward, yet amazingly more intimate with the inclusion of teh funny, first time. First for the pair, first foray into the old 'alternate lifestyles' and I really do love this kind of realism and laughter. It's not really intimacy if it's perfect, in my opinion, it's really intimacy when something goes wrong and it's great. Feels Like the First Time, Jack/Daniel, PWP and therefore not worksafe.
perfica gives great old married love: The Bottom Series: Jack is a little rationalization, a great sense of detail as to their whys and habits, and general comfort, thoughtfully written. Post SGA 3x11(The Return Part II) or sometime in S10 of SG-1. Not worksafe, Jack/Daniel.
kellifer_fic wrote for me a fic called Until We Do, which is filled with evocative detail and tired, sad fatigue. Lovely. Jack/Daniel, subtley, Worksafe.
*yawns* Am tired after a long week of charming the heck out of people and interviewing and stuff, so y'all will just have to work with this list for a while. I'll figure out what I missed later.
