Happy Boxing Day!

Och god jul, venner. I had a lovely Christmas, full of friends and family. 'Twas wonderful, am loved. Also got a sewing machine, and an external hard drive, yay!
AND, being not too quick on the uptake, I've just realized that the rose (gone now, sadly) and mistletoe in my user info are not, as previously supposed, anonymous giftage, but are from PEOPLE! From kellifer_fic and ivorygates and so, so sweet. I'm sorry it took me so long to mouse over them and see they had hidden gift tags; it does not lessen my appreciation for such unlooked for gifts. Mad kisses to anyone who wants them. *is easy*
For you, me, us and ours:
Christmasy, from
kellifer_fic: Five Annual Traditions that Take Place at the SGC in December. #1 is worth your time. Oh yes. Team, PG, SG-1.
Christmasy and a sweet, completely non-angsty discovery: Alcoholic Eggnog Not Needed by
melayneseahawk, PG or PG-13, Jack/Daniel.
Christmasy in an SGA way from
sdraevn: A Christmas Card, or a Christmas experienced with each member of the team. Gen, warm friendship. Ronon is more amazing the more I think about it.
From
rowan_d, a Sam/Daniel ship or friendship piece dealing with the PTSD we never see on screen. Texture of Memory, PG-13. One of my favorite ways for Sam and Daniel to relate to each other.
sori1773 wrote a nice, believable Rodney/Ronon fic called Anomalies, NC-17, S2 SGA. Their understanding and misunderstandings of each other are particularly in character, where the communication is quirky and odd. Nice, I liked.
From the
rare_pairings ficathon, an amusing little Sam/Cam, where Sam's leathers get her into trouble, but what Cam's wearing is the really dangerous outfit. Hee! Frolicky. All In A Day's Work by
laurelaitaine, PG-13.
On the brink, kinky John/Rodney. BDSM and hot and visceral. John's needs and reactions and Rodney's yearning and instinct. Amazing. Edges, really, really NC-17, by
neery.
Sam/Daniel/Jack OT3 from last summer by Meg (
sage_theory): Passing Thus Alone which is elegant synchronous thinking and love, even of the platonic possibility, PG-13,
Also Sam/Daniel/Teal'c OT3 from and Ari (
wisdomeagle) for Meg in the same ficathon: Highest Wisdom, Deepest Love. Has a dreamlike quality throughout, and a beautiful canonical basis. Feels believable and real and needed, by the end. NC-17.
PSA: Um, I sorta have a
3_ships fic in need of beta. It's due Saturday night, and it being the holidays and all, I don't want to assume that anyone is available to beta last minute, so this is a call for volunteers. Please? It'll be ready tomorrow and a threesome, but I think PG-13, likely. Well, Vala is around so you know they'll be innuendo and stuff... SG-1, S10 familiarity requested, and an ability to catch the odd grammatical mistake and poke me with a pointy stick when something could be better. Please?
Please? Did I say that? Help the tardy holiday time fic writer! *prepares to hit refresh to check for replies*
Right. Yuletide! (Please don't chide me for reading instead of getting my three ships fic done at a reasonable hour.) For those unfamiliar types, Yuletide is an amazingly large ficathon run for small fandoms only, small and rare. The weirder the better, though that may be my own preference. Authors are currently screened.
If You Can't Say Something Nice. Muppet Show, PG. I'm not kidding, the Muppet Show. Kermit relays the tale of how Waldorf and Stadler ended up watching a show they hate every week. The descriptions of Kermit at the end are marvelous, Danny Bonaduce (local radio personality to me) makes a notable appearance. Hee!
Dark Angel slash: Blame it on the Scotch. Logan/Alec, in a sweet little mind-blowing moment. S2, NC-17
A Dark Is Rising (Susan Cooper) fic, balm to those of us disturbed by the faith of a child for fallible adults in the final book: Eirias, Bran and Will, PG.
The Bourne Identity movies, Nicky and fear and loss and the not knowing how you became the person you are. Behavioural Software. PG-13, the fear is almost tactile in this writing; elegant.
