I have been recc'd THREE TIMES in recent memory, for my WRITING, and not for reccing. This is amazing. And it's not even counting the self-pimping I did in the [livejournal.com profile] girlgate comm (because the only femslash I've written is hidden in a poly fic)... But I digress, because I really am pleased as punch about this.

Two recs of the slash:
[livejournal.com profile] dirty_diana recc'd Stadium Seating on [livejournal.com profile] crack_van (thank you, d*!)

[livejournal.com profile] rydra_wong recc'd The Eye is not Satisfied with Seeing on [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec (*smootches RW*)

and then [livejournal.com profile] sg_fignewton also recc'd me on [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec, but for het this time, for One Half of the Equation, which is Sam/Daniel. So thank you too, that was one amazing rec.

Quirky and smutty and angsty, folks. Wow.

My stuff, stories and recs and all, is all linked from the sidebar in my layout. You can also find the stories in this post, and may I say that I'm just tickled when you do.

And man, am I curious to see whether this means more than two people will read the uber-rare pairing that I have in beta-land.

So to celebrate and pay it forward, I am participating in the Holiday Feedback-a-thon Meme (ganked from [livejournal.com profile] ladycat777):

How to play -- Leave a comment to this post with a reliable link to a story you've written that you'd like me to read and leave feedback for. If you want con-crit or to ask if specific things worked, please specify, otherwise, this is a chance for you to point me to fic I may have missed, that you think I'll really like, or introduce me to your writing if I haven't seen it before.

You could then post this meme in your own LJ. If you think offering it up to anyone would be too much, you could offer it to just your flist or to a filtered section of your flist.

What I promise -- That I will read all fic and leave a minimum of a paragraph of feedback. Depending on how many people sign up, it might take me a while, though. At some point, if the list gets too big, I may call a halt to sign-ups. It's unlikely, though, as I really enjoy reading.

I will read ALMOST anything, but RPF, AUs of the more extreme kind, non-con and rape may require a backup story just in case I have to bail. Anything else goes: crossovers, kinks, NC-17, het/slash/gen, quirky, rare characters... all are welcome.

The fandoms --
Alias
Firefly
Harry Potter (prefer adults only pairings, kaythanx)
Stargate: Atlantis
Stargate SG-1
Farscape (please don't spoil me past 3.04)
Dr. Who (Nine, some Ten)

Stories I've read/commented on are okay to offer up. You may want more feedback then an "aww", or you want serious concrit, or something else I can't think of. So unless I've already written a paragraph of feedback (which, very occasionally, I do) feel free to request that story again.

There was another, funnier meme that I saw at [livejournal.com profile] makesmewannadie's LJ, in which you look at the list of fandoms I know well, and think to yourself, 'self, how can she not know Due South/Torchwood/Andromeda/Angel/Buffy/some other fandom that I see on MMWD's list here???' and then ask me to describe it. I'll do it in the funniest way I can manage with the information I have, and then you can all laugh at my complete inability to focus on more than one or two fandoms at a time, or be in touch with American pop culture, scifi or otherwise.

I've seen very few episodes of the Simpsons, sue me. I do love the Daily Show, though.

Not the first Cam/Teal'c makeout fic, though, which IMO, is marvelous. Might be my very favorite sub-genre. *g*

Thank you for the request, and the fic. I'm glad to have read that.

You got a lot said for such a short piece! I'm sorry I missed that one before and I'm really glad you pointed me to it. I think antagonism is really such an interesting aspect of these guys' friendship, and they are, in their own ways, so socially wierd with interpersonal relationships, that to have them so confused and angry was bang on characterization. Plus they clearly had a connection and were just being assholes, as Teyla so succinctly pointed out.

Very nice! Thanks. Will watch for new fic. *glee*

Congratulations on the recs. :) This looks like a fun meme, and I might end up ganking it myself.

I just recently friended you, and I don't think I said hi yet. So hi!

Here's a J/D SG-1 fic I wrote recently: The Nature of a Man (http://whimsicalwhims.livejournal.com/18910.html).

To be fair, since I'm just now popping in, is there a particular story that you'd like detailed feedback on?

Hi!

Wow. That was an amazing way to introduce yourself! Thank you for pointing me to that fic, it was awesome. I have a dark fic prompt I really need to get writing on, so reading an Absolute Power fic was so appropriate.

Welcome, and if you want to read something Daniel-centric, I'd suggest the gen Like No One is Watching. Yup. We have Jack and Daniel, and some very slashy stuff, like One Day I'll Fly Away, but for pure Daniel, go for No One Watching.

I'm not above handing out a link for the feedback thingy, especially since your feedback is usually particularly good! However, I am embarrassed to ask anyone to read one of my hideously long sagas. SG-31 (http://brainofck.livejournal.com/78649.html) if you can read past the non-con. Or possibly Five Things that Never Happened to Daniel Jackson (and Jack O'Neill) (http://brainofck.livejournal.com/158081.html), if the non-con is a deal breaker.

Okay, I'll share. Several years ago I wrote this Firefly story you might like, called Time Flies You Can't (http://fromthesabrary.livejournal.com/9928.html). I'd wiggle with glee to hear your feedback.

It's also on the [livejournal.com profile] yuletide archive; they have nice formatting and a soothing brown scheme, but they're closed for the holidays till we all do our thing, and so. Tis the season. Enjoy!

From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_minxy_/
Wow. You know, I hoped for a few lurkers to come out of the woodwork, I thought a friend or two might offer up an older piece or an unusual one, but to have *you* offer up a MARVELOUS Sam and Rodney story, with a bonus of John-but-not-John, and Teyla so awesome that in one scene she totally takes over my head... is just icing on the cake.

I'm so glad you told me you'd written something while I was gone. I'd have imploded if it'd taken me six months or something to realize it.

I adore your crossovers. Dunno if I've ever explicitly said so, but just the fact that you have a handle on the best aspects of characters from two different shows is awesome, that you then blend them believably and compellingly into great plotty adventures is brilliant. Plus I love Sam and Rodney. LOVE.

Heya :) After reading your post about keeping this meme open, I decided I'd take the plunge and link you up to the last one of mine. I'm not sure if you'd have seen it or not, but it's a "Five Things" thing based on Cameron Mitchell & Sg1.

Tread Softly - Five Ways that SG1 break Cameron Mitchell's heart (http://elliejane.livejournal.com/24308.html)

(I was so tempted to try one of my Farscape fics on you, but I think they could very well contain spoilers, or at the very least, be wildly AU).

Date: 2006-11-20 05:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_minxy_/
You know what's funny about Farscape is that I don't really have time to learn a new fandom right now, so where I can ask for Stargate or Firefly recs and read them all in no time, I still don't think I've entirely been through all the episode specific recs I've gotten in the comments to my posts.

One day, I'll finish watching all the episodes, go back and do it again, and then I'll start working my brain into 'what ifs' and possibilities. And by then, I will be the only one left in the Farscape fandom, possibly, but at least there will be a lot of fic to reeeeeeeaaaaaaddddd. Yum.

The Cam fics were lovely, thank you for those.
