minxyYou know, I have a complicated relationship with vids. I have disks of them here that I sometimes watch, and I've even watched a few repeatedly, laughed out loud at a few, but I don't get the same gut punch out of watching that I do out of reading.
Though I've found some amazing new music watching the odd vid.
Anyway, every once in a while they really speak to me (like last night when I watched a whole WOAD diskfull). I got this notion once that it would be great to make a Sarcophagus love song of a relationship that goes wrong wrong wrong and people need to separate for their own good, and there would be explosions and stuff in the musical bridge and then the last 'verse would be the consequences of not having a sarc around and.. you know, no one has adopted that vid bunny yet either.
huh.
In a similar vein, I've now become completely convinced that this song, Shelter, by Ray LaMontagne (links at the end of the post. I should figure out how to upload songs to share), should be made into yet another love song from an anthropomorphized object; in this case, Atlantis, being in love with the Ancients who kept leaving her, but she loves them anyway and tries very hard to protect them even though it's clearly a codependent thing and she's setting herself up for disappointment.
It would be MOVING, dude. Because, you know, the bit about how they had to leave could be the ancients, and Elizabeth staying behind in stasis could be the city's last hope that she wouldn't be all alone and stuff and *lip wibbles* and the 'never had anyone made such a fool out of you' could be Rodney being frustrated at not having the gene, and there ought to be a John-you-golden-boy moment where Atlantis knows that people are back, you know? *beams*
Oh fine. But it would lend itself really well to a vid because Atlantis interacting with people is so visual. BLINKY LIGHTS!
