sherrold wrote for raqs in the Jack/Daniel ficathon (hooray for greensilver!) a story with about three difference concurrent conversations all going on at the same time, all with a great sort of manly not-talking: A Man's Life. NC-17.

surrealphantast wrote an OT3 offworld, with heat, and frustrated!Sam, and manipulative! Daniel and dangerous!Jack and I thought it worked really well. Sway, NC-17. Jack/Daniel/Sam. Characteristically nice balance between the three of them.

nandamai pointed me to another Solo Sam fic. Both she and Jenn (who found the links) added caveats to their recs for characterization, and it's true that there are some character choices that I wouldn't have chosen for Sam, but they're all illustrative and the writing is really very well done. Session. Points for letting the characters be flawed, even when they're fantasy characters. From HC-56 via the wayback machine, and Jenn and Nanda (wot? Sometimes it takes a village.) Not work-safe.

amireal wrote a DVD commentary for Cleave, a John/Rodney first time with courting fic. Not work-safe, btw, neither of them; much cuddling and then some NC-17ness. I love DVD commentaries (and this one is quirky and informative and wonderful.) People should write those a lot and leave me links.

Entertaining John/Rodney stuck up a tree: Neither an Ocelot Nor a Racoon Be from basingstroke. PG-13 maybe, work safe.

Lastly, thegrrrl2002 wrote Sunday porn (for the record, I encourage pron of any day of the week) and it's voyeuristic and a little kinky and now we all know that those are not handprints on the briefing room table. John/Rodney, PWP, NC-17.

Also, at gate_bitextual, an interesting pasttime: anonymous, in-character postings in which sincere, if snarky, gossipy advice is given from one character to another. The Anonymous Gate Character Gossip Meme. Props to docmichelle for finding one of the more creative, low pressure activities to entertain the kiddies.

I took the day out of work (with the intention of doing work at home, which I accomplished to some degree) but found this post after a while and have been coming back to it during the day. It's been far too long since I've spent more than a few minutes reading fic. I've been very bad and only reading drabbles and such. Thank you for these recs today. ;-)

Sometimes I even get reeeeeally bored and update my uber-rec's lists by subject. Hasn't happened recently, of course, but that Jack/Daniel list is bloody long already (see sidebar to the left). I should start a second one, LJ will cut me off for length eventually.
