it's my party!
Jul. 2nd, 2006 01:47 pmI am 29. It's not every day that a girl turns 29. Apparently this signals to the family that it's now time to start with the over the hill cards.
*snort* I am immune to their mind games, but I loved the presents. Three Sandman volumes among them. Gotta love having a geeky brother.
I played with D, the 4 year old (just had a birthday, he likes salad now that he's 4) who informed me that the pea plants were going to eat us. I was alarmed, as you may imagine; then again, the next minute I turned into a pig and had to walk like this, so obviously there were larger concerns.
I had brunch with pals and dinner with other pals and drinks out with still a third set and everyone who missed all of that (it is a long holiday weekend) is coming out to a baseball game Thursday.
I made summer rolls and ate chocolate and drank lime based drinks and there were sweet potato fries and witty banter and lots of laughter and I looked pretty.
For a dwarfed by the perpetually unfinished dissertation, nearly forgotten, snuck up on me, gather people at the last minute birthday, it was awfully grand.
And that's before we even get to the LJ birthday wishes, gift manips and walls, gifted months of extra icons and flyby wishes for a happy birthday. Y'all rock. Thank you.
Cake all around. No food fights.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled fandom posts.

Date: 2006-07-03 04:45 am (UTC)You know, I'd settle for him just getting back to me with his schedule.
Or, you know, we could skip this whole thing and they could just give me my stupid degree.
I'm sure he meant to, must have slipped his mind, though. Yeah, that's it. He just forgot to hit the 'send' button on the email.
