minxyThe Stargate Fan Awards are still accepting nominations through the end of this month only. Not only would it be nice of you to nominate fic that you particularly enjoyed with the hope that it will win awards, but the website becomes one of the best archives for really good fic around even after voting and awards because they keep the lists for all the nominated fic active. So please go vote as part of your civic duty (and out of love). You are welcome to trawl my LJ to jog your memory or locate links or what have you. *enables*

leadensky (claims no responsibility) and thassalia (blames leadensky squarely) are considering running a female friendship ficathon to help create fic in which girls kick butt and it's not about sex (though there could be sex, it just wouldn't be the center of the universe) slashers, shippers and all fans of strong women encouraged to add their two cents. Multifandom, wildcards and crossovers are currently being considered. Go play! The Thelma & Louise Do Outer Space - the Female Friendship Ficathon Poll is here to gauge interest.
And I am thrilled to announce signups for 2006 Jack/Daniel ficathon are now in progress atgreensilver's journal. I am not as happy to say that I'm afraid RL deadlines will prevent participation, although I will cry if so. I do have a little p0rn ficlet to post to mollify anyone else who might be sad if I'm not in it, though, so at least I can promise to write Jack and Daniel, just not to a deadline.
Also just added some half a dozen icons to my list of fun, including this beauty byamnellwyvern who is creating some very lovely non-fandom icons at the moment. Go girl. Also, my new default image *goes warm and gooey over Hammond* was made by spacemonkeyluvn and it suits my mood rather nicely.
