Consider, please: By Any Other Name by (sori1773) which is a lovely progression of strangers to friends, to falling out and making up and farther. John/Rodney, and gentle and lovely. The pacing is really nicely done.

Downpour by littleheaven70 is an NC-17 Daniel/Vala that is really annoyed, tense, irritated sex, with just a bit of an ease of tension post-coital. It's great characterization, with Vala pushing too hard and Daniel getting fed up and not liking himself anymore but just having nowhere to run... and not a single punch is pulled, no easy falling into bed for anyone. Thanks to RW for the rec on stargateficrec.

(also, if you're into arguing today, _inbetween_ wrote a cranky!John & Rodney snippet and it gives me perverse joy. Fuhgeddaboudid.)

This is bound to be one of my favorite Jack character studies ever, and it's Jack and Daniel friendship oriented, so that's a plus, and Jack's protectiveness arc is so nicely drawn and I just hadn't thought of it that way, it's really nice. Elementariness. Gen, but you could read in pre-slash, if you were wraith816. ETA: forgot to tell you the author! It's kellifer_fic's work.

Aaaaand last but not least, sidlj wrote a fic about recovering and balance and support and taking all the time you need: Someday, with a warning for unexplicit non-con. Rate it teen for subject matter, but no graphic violence. (She rebounded from the subject matter by letting her two favorite boys be violent in a good way with each other: The Flip Side, warning this time for spanking and dubious submission.)

RL writing update: I rock. Seriously. I'm discovering I knew more than I thought I did and stuff's starting to come together, which is cool. And then I go back to my little hotel room and lay out on my gigantic made-for-threesomes-clearly bed and type fanfic. My social life is boooooring if you don't count fried oreos at the rodeo last night, but durned if I'm not productive as hell.

Also uploaded a bunch of new icons. Some Farscape, some Alias, one John Stewart (notably) and the requisite cuppla Stargate ones. This one is Syd and Will from Alias. I like Syd/Will more than Syd/Vaughn I think. I know Vaughn is canon, but who cares? So is Will! And he's still alive even if he's changed his name and moved to Wisconsin! There's potential, people. When do new eps start airing again? Jen looked great and funny at the Oscars.

You know how with really big projects you have to break them down into bit sized pieces? I had been working on this bit or that bit, or a review of this subject to go here and the general intro here, with more detail a few paragraphs later... and then I couldn't remember what I had planned to work on next, so I went through it today and looked at it as a whole and it's... not that bad! Coming together, coming together. Wrote a few pages on the fly when I didn't have the references with me to cite but knew the information, got to the point where there were no place markers anymore, and what I basically had was a draft. *is stunned and proud*

Uh huh. 'Cause everytime I took issue with something you changed it to make me happy? Why would I want to rec that? *sticks out tongue at you* Plus, the ending is wonderful.

I'm a little bummed about none of the cowboys stepping up either. But you know, I was eating my big hunk of meat for supper and sitting near two nice, clean, long lean boys, hats and belt buckles and all, and I might have been bold, might have tried to talk to them about something, but their conversation ranged from what had gone wrong in their competitions earlier to whose sister had been in a bear attack and how she'd fought them off by making noise banging a pot and it's too bad the boys weren't there, right? Because they'd have been armed and then the sister wouldn't have had to be scared and the bear wouldn't haave to be scared off with big noises because the bear would be dead, man! And I... really didn't know how to contribute to that conversation.
