See the heel? Totally danceable.

See the pretty colors? Ooooooh, pretty. That's black suede and tan leather.

No, I don't dance pigeon-toed, I dunno why I stood like that.
So I took my shoes out dancing today, and they are worth the somewhat shockingly high price I paid for them. Apparently American shoe companies just don't get the need for a stable dancing heel on their shoes, so you have to get the Argentine shoes, and then, you know, importing fees, yadda.
Whatever, I love my shoes. And they felt like soft buttered leather dancing. I have not a single blister, not a red spot (and I have temperamental feet. They get blisters if I paint the toenails a funny color) and I danced non-stop for 3.5 hours (too much math? Round up to 4 if you want). My posture was better, my balance improved, and dammit, my feet looked good! It's all about having the right tools for the job, I tell you. Also? Some pretty pretty dance partners today. Mmmmmm. They had nice shoes too. Yes they did, but not as nice as mine.
I've yet to have my photo taken with my new 'specs, so those will have to wait, and I cropped the photo before you got a close up view of the scars from the lovely Thanksgiving dog-biting incident, or you'd eventually have a full body image of me going on here. Lucky you!
Lastly, y'all know the Isis Awards are open for voting, right? Go! Read the secondary 'ships (not Sam/Jack, not Wier/Sheppard. EVERYONE ELSE IS SEXIN' IT UP HERE, FOLKS) vote for the imaginative authors! Cookies for everyone!

Your shoes are gorgeous and they actually look comfortable, and even a sexah little strap, too. I gave up heels years ago, except for one pair in basic black and oh, but do I hate to wear them.
And thanks for the recs. *runs off to pick one to read with lunch*

Date: 2006-02-21 01:30 am (UTC)I told my Dad today that I prefer to dance with older guys (by which I mean 30-40) rather than the guys who look like they're in their 20's; because younger guys? Can't lead. My favorite partner was this guy who would've fit right in at a motocycle rally. Loved that guy.
Dad is a little disturbed by the term 'older guys' though. I may have to clarify what I mean by that.
Thanks re: shoes. I adore them as well. I am not a shoe freak, though, I want to have MAYBE half a dozen shoes in my closet that will serve me for any occasion I might need shoes for. And these are classic and elegant and I bet if I were feeling daring I might wear them for something not dancing related. *blushes*
And I love prompting fics. Sometimes the way I think doesn't really gel with the way and author thinks, but sometimes you can't go wrong. Like Mal in a leather utili-kilt. I mean, *guh*

So, new friend-type. You'll find links to semi-frequently updated recs pages on the right at the bottom, right underneath links to my fic by title. You are more that welcome to look around and make yourself comfortable.
