When LJ eats your whinging RL posts. I shall sum up the whinging so you're all up to speed, but now you don't all have to read the somewhat adapted and interpreted actual conversations:

*ahem* Boys are confusing. They are also, from time to time, inexplicably commitment-phobic, but if they are as sweet as they can sometimes be, they will fall all over themselves trying to make sure everyone is still friends. By which I mean, everything but the sexy; still dancing, still hugging... he still HOLDS MY HAND. We probably should talk about that...

[ETA. Oh carp. It's back, that post. I thought I was off the hook. Alas. Now you all know how unloved I am at the moment. Or not since I'm getting lots of cyberhugs.]

ANYWAY, pretty pretty fic. Did y'all know that I get regularly pimped as a pimp? I'm so proud. [livejournal.com profile] cofax7 wants to get me a pink furry hat with a white feather on it and I love that idea. It gave me pause, I admit, to realize that this would make me a badguy in Joss Whedon's 'verse, I am resigned to not ever living in the Firefly 'verse however, so I'm willing to take the risk that this rule is not a universal constant.

So feel free to tell me what kind of pimp hat you think I should wear. *g* Or, you know, anything else.

M'kay. Fic: There are updates at Pepe's Place, including the penultimate installment of 'The Mind Doesn't Decide' called Relative Calm from Wordgeek which shall heretofore be known as 'the Coming Out Episode'. I read another fic recently (the title is escaping me, apologies to the author.) in which there were nuances in reaction to Jack and Daniel coming out (in that case, Hammond being a God-fearing Christian but just absolutely unwilling to judge although he didn't really understand) and I like this development in fanfic. It is a plot in and of itself, so Wordgeek didn't further the galactic thingy plot a whole heck of a lot, but this is one amazing opus and that it continues to work with the canon of the show so thoroughly through season 7 and 8 is really impressive.

[livejournal.com profile] kres (who hopefully wasn't nudged at all because that feature is BIZARRE) posted a wonderful, mysterious snippet from the upcoming last part of the 'Pick Up Here' trilogy of wonder. Particles of Light. And it takes me this long to stop trying to find the logic in all of it and just let the emotions and the words and the artistry float me? Sometimes? I am not so bright.

Also Guy Talk by [livejournal.com profile] teand is quite wonderful Jack/Daniel at a crossroads. S9.

And Microscopic by [livejournal.com profile] stellahobbit. Creative and unique and creepy and sweet. Jack/Daniel, but don't expect any cliches.

Finally, [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis has the voting set up for the p0rn battle, and her categories include "I Killed Fandom" slash awards (vote for me! vote for me! OMG that category has a lot of entries), "I'll Be In My Bunk" het awards (don't cringe, this is multifandom), the "Spontaneous Combustion" art awards, the "So Wrong It's --Wrong, But Damn It's Hot And Hell Will Be Fun" award (my favorite category), and the "Two Is Not The Only Number" award. YES. So go vote, and come back for a cookie if you actually make it through all the slash noms. Holy carp.

Props to Oxo for the idea, for the organization and for setting up the voting and stuff. Although we all won out with all the hawt p0rn that got posted there. OMG hawt.

Likewise, but I think you're thinking of [livejournal.com profile] icarusancalion's SG-1/SGA crossover.

So go vote, and come back for a cookie if you actually make it through all the slash noms.

And you can only vote for three! *weeps and beats breast at the agony and impossibility of choosing*

Oh, you're so RIGHT! I'll go look that up, because Hammond really was lovely in that.

And, I'm intimidated by that list. Although I've gone through all, what, 4 or 5 PAGES of p0rn comments several times now... How to CHOOSE????

Ah, it's Colony Atlantis (http://icarusancalion.livejournal.com/450289.html#cutid1) by icarus, but it's still in beta phase (public beta phase no less, gutsy woman) so I was waiting to rec.

I am of the opinion that a fly ladypimp like yourself should have a big purple pimp hat with fur all around the brim and a big black feather on it. :P (Psssst, I have one just like it at home from halloween! ;D)

Just thinking out loud here, but red or pink hats are the signs of that social group, Red Hat ladies and the purple makes me think of that poem about 'when I grow old, I will wear purple.' So my thoughts on the matter is that since we are all princesses, a tiara would be in line. Then you could be Princess of Pimp. :oD I am, btw, the Princess Bad Girl of the North. ;o)

My Mom has a breast-cancer-survivor Pink hat, but they almost wouldn't let her have it because she survived the wrong type of cancer (she bitch-slapped them a few times and they came around)

I'm totally going to be a wonderfully eccentric old person, too. Purple works.

But ooooooh, SHINY TIARA! *flaunts new Princess of Pimp title and crown* *makes a sash to go with*

Yes, the sash is SO needed to complete the ensemble. Good call.

And proper pronunciation is critical! Ever see the Storybook video starring Robin Williams as the Frog prince? They kept referring to Teri Garr as Prin-CESS! Accent on the last syllable. :oD I am a PrinCESS!

*is verklempt*

You know, *waves hand in front of eyes and breathes deeply* fashion? It really isn't my forte. So I *takes a moment* ...that means a lot. *hugs*

*blows nose noisily*

I'd like to thank the academy...
