I am REMISS! I am a lazy bum!

C'mon, you all know it's true.

Actually, it has been pointed out to me through memes and the odd New Year reflection, that people may feel I am somewhat of an enigma. It may be mostly memes that feel this way, I'm not sure.

I have no idea where that came from. But here's the thing: I don't MEAN to be all secretive, it's just that LJ is public and stuff, dude. So if you have a pressing need to ask me questions or clarify a particular point or ask about my childhood or whatnot, email a girl! I'll answer questions in detail if I know exactly who I'm talking to. Here's my email: nightlight43 at yahoo dot com. Do your worst. Just see if you can squick me with the personal questions. There is no deadline on this particular challenge. *g*

Anyway. FANFIC! We can all talk about fanfic!

LOL. Lot's of stuff was posted between ficathons and Yuletide and secret_santas and end of year memes and stuff. I'm behind. Here we go:

Nixa Jane ([livejournal.com profile] laytoncolt) wrote All of Eden in [livejournal.com profile] mckay_sheppard, a Rodney/John fic that really reminds me of this SG-1 fic called the Myth of Fingerprints, because it walks a similar line. I don't want to tell you anything more about it, actually. But you should read it.

[livejournal.com profile] nialla42's incredible SG-1 episodic satires the Breadbox Editions now feature Reckoning, Part 1 at alphagate. I love the BBE's.

Plus, I love [livejournal.com profile] katie_m. Love her. She has so many genuinely unique ideas in this fandom: Workplace Legends.

[livejournal.com profile] kellifer_ficwrites Aftermath, which may be my favorite 'broaching of subject' preslash conversations for John and Rodney.

[livejournal.com profile] janedavitt (the bloody prolific woman that she is. *hugs*) wrote a lovely little Christmas fic called Missing Daniel. I actually like it best in the quiet After Holidays time.

A hysterical SG-1 fairy tale: The Tale of Sleeping Brawny and the Galactic Adventurer Who Woke Him Up by [livejournal.com profile] ana_grrl.

Also, a gen satirific very VERY funny Snape fic in the Harry Potter fandom: The Many Faces Of Severus Snape by cecelle.

Lastly, excepting the more mainstream (fannishly speaking) Sam/Jack and Wier/Sheppard, the Isis Awards is accepting nominations for het ships of the lesser known variety. Go and nominate for the next two weeks! We aim to support them as much as possible because I did some late night nominating and whoops! igored the rule that 'secondary 'ships' meant NOT SLASH, alas. They were gracious, though. So sweet about it. *G* Sorry Meg! Sorry! Still!

If you're into any secondary het pairings, this is the place to look for fic. The Sam/Daniel fics alone are a treasure trove.

I wonder if I can post the Teal'c/Sam fic in time to get it nominated? Prolly not. meh.

Sam/Teal'c? *pushes*

It's okay. I won't have time to finish my Sam/Daniel one.

It's half written, it might make the deadline, actually. Race you? I have one Sam/Daniel, but I have no idea if the soon-to-be-posted smutfic will qualify. It's, erm, slightly more than a het 'pairing'. *g*.

Hee. Like I needed another deadline. I'm nuts.

Hmm, yeah not sure it would qualify, but I don't know what it's all about.

Oh a race! My Sam/Daniel against your Sam/Teal'c???! It's a win-win situation! You're on ;)

Sweet! Must get that smut fic posted ASAP, now! *bounces*

I love that icon, too. I need a Sam/Teal'c icon if I'm going to post a fic...

I love that Sam/Daniel icon. Too cute.

I guess that means my gen and Jack/Daniel fic needs to either get done now, or wait a couple of days.

*brain goes pop*

Damn you Minxy. You always seem to inspire me without realizing it. I wonder. If I stopped listening to you would I stop being creative? Is that really something I want? Huh. Carry on. *g*

AH! How do you *do* that?

*sigh* That's perfect.

Um, I'm happy to keep doing whatever I'm unconsciously doing... Or you can stop listening to me, I'll understaaaaand. *chin wibbles*

But until that day, and probably beyond, *loves*

I couldn't stop listening to you if I tried. ;-)

And I learned something today. It used to be thought that when brain cells died they were gone forever. But they have discovered that by continuously doing thought provoking exercises you can keep them. Something like that. In other words, the more creative I am, the bigger my brain gets?
