The brilliant and timid (when it comes to writing fanfic) [livejournal.com profile] rydra_wong has taken the plunge and posted a fic. And she did a great job with his voice, though, also Teal'c's conflicting loyalties and feelings about SG-1 and the SGC and the free Jaffa... Anyway, Teal'c and the newest member of SG-1, who doesn't know enough to leave him alone. Mountains Are Not Mountains.

Ahem. I'm really excited because the woman has brilliant ideas about stuff, and I think eveeeeryone should go read and tell her than she should keep writing.

Also, at some point [livejournal.com profile] sdraevn announced that she loved fanfic commentaries: like DVD commentaries except it's the writer of a particular piece of fanfiction and they really do a better job of staying on topic. And? [livejournal.com profile] sdraevn has really really good writer friends, and they're posting commentaries on some really great stories.

In particular, [livejournal.com profile] raqs posted one about one of my FAVORITE Pegasus B pieces (for those paying attention, Jack/Rodney PegBa'al) Under A Broken Moon (commentary). I wouldn't have thought it possible, but I love UaBM even MORE now. Already adored [livejournal.com profile] raqs, though, obviously.

Other really cool commentaries on fics I loved?

[livejournal.com profile] tafkarfanfic's Stella Maris commentary which is PegB Daniel/Rodney How They Began, or at least, before they both came to Atlantis, which is a perk of the Peg B universe, that we can go back and forth. I love that Tafkar starts the commentary with the photos of where she wrote the fic. In a bar. In ITALY. How romantic is that? *stills fluttering heart*

[livejournal.com profile] troyswann's commentary for Owl Eyes. SGA, John/Rodney. Magnificent story, if you haven't read it. Fascinating writerly meta in the commentary.

[livejournal.com profile] thegrrrl2002 has made a commentary for A Little Bit Crazy, which is also hawt SGA John/Rodney first time and taking place on Earth where they no longer fit, interestingly. thegrrl's commentary tells you where things could have gone, which was just so cool to hear. It did end where it was meant to, though I'd love to see fics of those other ideas too.

Yes I did. I hope you continue, but don't feel obligated to make it the most comprehensive thing ever. It'll get away from you fast enough, believe me.

Also? I was one of Rydra's betas, so I'm really glad that you liked it. *glee*
