For those of you following the cryptic personal comments I make here from time to time, I am, like, THIS CLOSE *holds fingers like she's squashing your head* to finishing the work required for graduation. THIS CLOSE *squashes your head*

Anyway.

FIC! It makes us happy, precioussssss.

Quarks, Quantum Chromodynamics and Other Unproven Theories by Amireal = [livejournal.com profile] amific. SGA, John/Rodney (and John and Rodney). Sweet moments, interesting story, good little twists and turns. Unusual and interesting first time situation. Yup.

An insta-birthday fic for [livejournal.com profile] cofax7 prompted by a single word gives us the lovely team snippet from [livejournal.com profile] elishavah. Season 5ish, team,Teal'c is a wonderful presence.

And speaking of Teal'c, the unusual form fic that has spawned far too many plot bunnies in my head: 21 Things We Never Knew About Teal'c by [livejournal.com profile] nakedtoes. *sigh* Yes, I started writing. Do you realize that my WIP folder is overnight full to bursting? Lordy.

Dunno if I've ever mentioned this outright, but you should read it. It's just that good. This is Pegasus B, but it's still Jack and Daniel, and the sexiest thing, considering that it never ventures into actual sex... It's incredible, though: Knives by [livejournal.com profile] raqs.

Can't remember if I've ever put this anywhere but the recs lists either, but here you go:
It's amazing what one canon sentence can do: Acid Worms by BetaCandy which is Teal'c's take on the circumstances surrounding the drink that made Carter take off her... on P3X-595.

Plus, [livejournal.com profile] sage_theories Day 3 off the 12 Days of Christmas is a lovely Sam/Teal'c moment. Equality.

The Mal/Simon ficathon pieces are due today, and I'm looking forward to getting to read some of the new authors: Master List. So you should understand that I haven't started reading YET, but omgthetablescene! That is all.

ETA: one more thing, I was just browsing around [livejournal.com profile] greensilver's webpage and found Foothold Situation, a really nice Jack/Daniel moment. PG.

Minxy, go check the SNIT board. Just so you know.

And I *really* need to find some time to read these recs of yours. Everything you have rec'd that I have read has been good, so I wager everything else must be worth my time. Must create that time sometime. ;-) Thanks for your effort at catologuing such wonderfulness! (Word? Don't care. Is now.)

Okay, heading over now (and most stories are shortish, won't take you any time at all). (Especially the Mitchell/Daniel = Camiel ones)

Congratulations on being almost done!! *hugs you tight* I'll be playing catch up over the weekend, you know, when I'm not dedicatedly slacking. *g*

It's wierd, I got to the end and got... apathetic? I'm trying to maintain the enthusiasm, though. Trying really hard. *concentrates* *realizes she looks constipated* *gives up and goes to read fic*

Mabi made me a name icon to congratulate me on getting through the afternoon semi-productive! *twirls*

LOL! I realized that my brain checked out about 3 weeks ago. A good chunk of time this week was devoted to number-crunching to find out just how much I could afford to blow it on any given final and keep a decent grade.

have fun with the fic reading. If you find anything else of interest, please share. I'll be playing catch up on the recs for a bit here. *g*

OOooooooh read my fic! Read mine! [/5 year old behaviour = side effect of apathy]

This is my alternate choice icon. She looks a bit more like me, here, but I like the out of focus one best, I think. *thinky*

LOL! Your fic was among the first I read, silly. But I'm happy to go re-read on command. Sam/Daniel is my Stargate het pairing of choice.

Hmm... (looks at icon appraisingly). I like the out of focus one better, too, even if I keep straining my eyes trying to focus it. But I love the tilted face-in-the-lens icon best.

...I don't have an icon that looks like me, though I like to think I look a bit like Janet with much shorter hair. (when I'm feeling beautiful and wickedly competent). And I always pictured you more like Sam... without the physics thing, you know. *g*

I'll have to send you a photo some time. Really I'm somewhere in the middle. Not blonde, but not short either. Though I do like physics. Yay science!

Did you read the teeeeeeamfic? I worked really hard on it! But there weren't any pairings allowed. Every time they started flirting I had to tell them to stop *sorrowful* (psssst, it's here. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/_minxy_/21982.html))

You know, this icon? This isn't Janet, this is Teryl. And I picked it up before I knew about crediting, so it kills me that I can't give the artist props.

You know, to confuse the issue, I could point out that your earlier handle was "nightlight". I can remember reading your posts on the scifi bboards and turning to [livejournal.com profile] wraith816 saying "I like her. Can we keep her?" ;-)

LOL, really? I remember sort of meandering about the different threads and then finding the BBE threads and some kind of quip about slashers being like chocolate and other flavors... y'all were the first to seriously match my sense of humor. Of course, I did have to be corrupted into being a slasher before I could learn the secret handshake... and gain my new name. *G*

Nightlight, while sounding really cool, was a bit too sweet and innocent, really. Minx? Really don't have that problem.

Yay you! What are you graduating in/from?

Yaaaaaay me! I am graduating from medical school. Am hypereducated. Did you need some multisyllabic words? Or perhaps something of Latin or Greek origin and ickibly related to bodily performance? I'm your girl. *g*

I am graduating from medical school.

I suspected as much from your new icons, but didn't want to jump to conclusions. Go you!

Did you need some multisyllabic words?

All stocked up at the moment *g*. But I'm itching to talk fic if you have any thoughts on the latest draft.

*pesters*

Congrats on being head-squashably close! ::uses chesspiece-head-squashing icon::

And thanks for that rec of [livejournal.com profile] raqs's 'Knives.' I'd have gotten to it eventually (I've been sloooowly catching up on PegB for months), but I clicked over from your link and it just knocked me on my butt. Great stuff. (Not that I should really thank you for distracting me from the teamfics I still haven't read, like yours which I'm running over to read RIGHT NOW, but thanks anyway. *g*)

LOL. Ah, the f/b crack. I won't stop you from going to read my ficathon piece. I think I made my betas go through, what, 3 versions? I think so. They were nice to me. Either that, or they wanted me to stop editing the thing so they wouldn't have to beta another draft. *snort*.

Knives and Under A Broken Moon (which are not from the same story branch) are both by Raqs and my favorites, I think, from Peg B. That is solidly my absolute favorite AU ever, too. Knives is just fantastic, isn't it? I wish I had the skill to write her the prequel.

Nope, no distraction -- read and loved the fic, and I suspect it was no hardship at all for your betas. :-)

'Under a Broken Moon' is awesome too, but everything I've seen of [livejournal.com profile] raqs's has been awesome, so no surprise, I guess.

Oooh, prequel ... hope you reconsider at some point, tho I know you have a lot of fics vying for your attention these days ...
