I. Am. Not. Pleased.
Nov. 29th, 2005 02:40 pmStupid owner of dangerous dog refuses to pay $200 to remove dog from mandatory quarantine (due to dog bite that drew blood. A lot of blood. And broke my skin in 6 places)...
and prefers instead to surrender the dog to be destroyed.
All this after insisting that his dogs wouldn't do that, that he was about to get a fairly expensive invisible fence (eta: in his rented house. Bastard) put in, and, by the way, his dogs weren't outside that day and they're always controlled when they are.
See how much he loves his dogs and is a responsible owner?
So here I am, concerns about rabies fighting with a ridiculous little teesy bit of guilt in that corner of my mind that is not currently furious with the stupid owner who will let his dog take all the punishment for this.
I mean... I don't know what I mean. It just makes me so hopelessly sad. We fought like HELL for life two weeks ago, and now this man with the ability to make things better will instead CHOOSE death for something that trusts and loves and relies on him. And probably was trying to protect him when he attacked me and my leg, damn it.
And no way to press for better care or control of his other dog either.
Anyway.

taselby: ya sure you betcha, and will send email soon, but are you sure I'm qualified? Measly student of subject is not tremendously impressive on paper. Unless you're going to wait until after January to turn it in, in which case I will be graduated and much more intimidating a specialist.
Not so seekrit message to
wraith816 and
switch842. I love my vid. Can't believe y'all made such a warm hug of a hurt/comfort J/D vid. That's comfort food, right there. {{{{{hugs}}}}} For everyone else, to d/l this cheer up your day vid, go here.
News from the Janet front: lovely Janet POV of her time with Daniel during Meridian. Warning for clinical detail walking the 'possibly squicky' line, but it didn't bother me. Not that, you know, it was likely to. Friendship, S5, PG-13 for medical stuff. Cleanliness Is Next to Godliness by kaz.
More Cameron/Teal'c goodness, which is, btw, my official S9+ OTP.
janedavitt (*face/palm* Sorry, Jane! Sorry!) was goaded into this pairing by a set of suspicious characters. Of no relevance whatsoever is the fact that she wrote
rydra_wong and I a drabble which is snicker-worthy. Hee! Try, Try Again.
Loooooooove for
ana_grrl who jumps in the new fandom with both feet: Gesture. Incidently, she also wrote just an amazing Inara & Jayne friendship moment that is set post-BDM. Unbalanced.

You do realize I zipped into your LJ for the link and STILL wrote the wrong name? I need help. The mind is the first to go...

Date: 2005-11-30 08:17 am (UTC)Seekrit reply: I've sent a long, rambling, sleep-deprived reply already. I'd be thrilled to wait until January, but unfortuately, Instructor of Micro Class kinda wants it sooner. Dang her inflexible devotion to the Institution!
And there's just no good there in the dog situation. What a jerk the owner is. Poor dog. {{{hugs you tight}}}

Some people just do not get the concept of "responsibility", do they?
(The elderly cat currently snoozing on my pillow once belonged to a very old lady; when she died, her relatives didn't want to be bothered dealing with the cat, so they dumped him).
*hugs you*
Try to remember that there's nothing for you to feel guilty about, and no way you could have prevented this - if it wasn't you, the dog would have bitten someone else sooner or later.
