They are killing me. Seriously. *head/desk*

But I love them anyway and I bookmark for future reference or to remind myself why I'm not supposed to start reading WIPs.

Anais' Shark Fishing in Colorado series (a five act farce, 4 completed) Hook, Line and.....

The Games Men Play by [livejournal.com profile] dustandroses (@ [livejournal.com profile] dustys_fic) Another 4/5 so far, but Gods help me, I started reading and now I'm HOOKED, precious! I just can't resist the p0rn. I'm weak. It's hot. What can I say?

A Dirty Wind by [livejournal.com profile] cofax7. I was waiting for it to be finished, but now it's finished, I'm waiting for it to be tweaked and edited and unified or something and *head/desk*. The only reason I can resist is because omg I probably don't have time to fall into a long story who's only exit is the other side. *head/desk*

[livejournal.com profile] bastmoon (Roo)'s slash-> Stargate ->The Simpatico Series. It is tortuous to me that this probably won't be completed, because it is beautiful. It is also crazy amounts of work, yes. But I love, and I am a bit heartbroken, really.

Wordgeeks' The Mind Doesn't Decide series, which I also started reading before I realized that it was a WIP. *whimper*

ETA: YAY for finished WIPS!!!!! Here they are, the lovelies:

And, last but not least: Retrograde by [livejournal.com profile] ltlj. The force is STRONG with this one. Actually, that's the wrong fandom. This is a critically acclaimed (can you *say* that about LJ peeps?) SG-1/SGA crossover... And it is really everything I was promised. Holy carp, what a fantastic story! *enjoys the ride* Erm, whoops! There are spoilers in the comments. Just a warning. But seriously, go read it!

Jane goes darkside: Leaving Time by [livejournal.com profile] janedavitt, J/D, NC-17, S4ish, some violence. It's really deft how she's woven threads of communication and resistance and miscommunication and love and anger and pain and blending into a piece that starts in one place and ends in a completely different setting. Don't be scared of this fic because of it's darkness, it's haunting, and it starts creepy, but more than that it's thought provoking and even the sex has meaning in all of it. Incredible.

I'm writing Leaving Time right now. I've got 6,000 words ready to post but I said I wouldn't until it was done, so...

Another couple of days, max :;hugs::

Today, I think. I saw 'Anais' and I had glee, then I saw 'WIP' and I whimpered.

But Leaving Time? Am looking forward to that. *hugs*

OMG. How much do I love this series? I can't even say! And Joy's Trinity series that I thought was done now has another part now that she's writing. Ahh!!! Must have more now!

OMG - Retrograde! I read the first part, then lost it until a couple of days ago. So I read all 5 parts at once, and I was on the edge of my seat! I can't wait until the last part comes out. She said it's on the way. I hope so - I'm dyin' here!

I guess I missed the end of A Dirty Wind - I must go find that now!

So Simpatico will not be finished? I've been waiting for a while on that one...that's too bad. Should I read what there is of it, anyway? Is it worth it?

Been waiting on Janedavitt's...didn't know about the other two. I'll check them out. Thanks.

My beta is finally back online (I got an email today) - so I should have another part of The Games Men Play soon. Not that I couldn't do it without her, but - well, maybe I couldn't - I don't know. Anyway, I panicked. Sorry...

*face/palm* You're killin' me! I hadn't started reading a couple of these, now I'm gonna have to. *mumbles* I'm such a sucker for a WIP.

And, yeah... *points up to [livejournal.com profile] switch842* Joy's Trinity series has me completely and totally hooked! As well as Leaving Time. *huggles [livejournal.com profile] janedavitt for posting latest part*

I feel like Simpatico will end with Bolero, barring a minor miracle. That's my impression. I've sent f/b to Roo and chatted with her a bit about it, but it really is an enormous undertaking so if the motivation isn't there.

I think it is really worth reading, as it ends in a really nice way as it stands. Each of the first two parts (Simpatico and Bolero) can stand on their own, I think. It's one of the WIPs with really satisfying installments. Go ahead and read, and, you know, send gushing f/b if you think it will help.

I'm hearing great great stuff about Retrograde. I can't wait to read it.

And, The Games? Finish when it's ready, don't let me bully you. But you know, if gushing fangrrly f/b is motivating to you then say the word and I will tell you just exactly how *guh* I think they are. That eloquently, too. *G*

Jane does finish stuff, she just can't wait to post, and I've been there, so I can't complain.

No, no, see: what you do is ignore this post until something is finished and THEN you think to yourself 'self? Didn't minxy post links to all those wonderful WIPs that are finished now?' and THEN you read them.

Yes, see, that's the point.

Well, you know, I'm hoping it'll be done and posted by Christmas. You could read the rest of the series, if you wanted to... After all, Thunder Follow Me and Meet on the Ledge are pretty large by themselves.

And ADW really needs the edit: I'm cleaning up continuity gaffes and plot problems and thematic stuff. It'll be better, I promise, although without 45 cliffhangers. *g*

Feel free to wait on A Dirty Wind; I'm doing a rewrite before putting it all up in one handy file on my website. Much easier to follow that way.

I worry that I'm missing out on the cliffhangeriness of the whole thing, and then I think, whoa, like, 45, dude.

But Christmas would be fine, I'm planning to schedule in some time to relax at that point, and after Christmas? I'm graduating (*glee*) so that would be good for me too, because obviously, you're planning around me, right?

I won't miss it, though. Feels like classic literature I'm missing out on at this point. And I don't want to be left oooooouuuuuuutttttt.

I'm fairly certain I've read the other parts of the series already. I think I've plundered your website, though since it was before I started taking notes on my little fangrrl LJ here, I'm not entirely sure...

I didn't know (but am not surprised) that she's a pro writer. Will be investigating her books a.s.a.p..

I've been wandering round over the last few days thinking, "Tiny little local Amazon women! The cannibalism conversation! PattyHearst!Daniel! Rodney's shouting algorithm! Teyla's SGC breeding program theory, which would explain so much! Zelenka's secret lair! Watching invisible imaginary people move around the room! Rodney's fear of Vampire!Daniel! Jack's backseat-driving! And oh, traumatized John, and such a clever set-up and it's so plotty and cliffhanger-y and painful in a non-gratuitous way, but the character deliciousness!"

One of my favorite things was how competant Jack was and still bantery and charming and disarming and goofy. My favorite thing about Jack is that he has this great sense of human nature and beings in general and that he could work with Elizabeth, talk to John, see a picture of them and from that alone, realize that the idea John would lead a mutiny against Elizabeth was ridiculous.

To say nothing of the others. The whole plot made so much SENSE and it was all suspenseful and comprehensible all at the same time! With twisty things and people not-quite-dead and trusting, but not, for a very good reason! And SG-1 realizing what had happened and just doing what they could but respecting the expedition and the choices they were making. *flails*

Secret Lair. *giggle*

Actually, I giggle at all of it. Tiny Amazon women! *glee*
