Aug. 12th, 2010 10:58 amPlease, do not let your brains explode as you ponder how many times I've spammed you in the last week. It is all down to that magic time when there are no students in the lab in the summer (and no boss either, as we staggered vacations) and classes don't begin for a few more weeks.
Thus, LINKSPAM.
This is one of those charming knitting things that happens sometimes. I have no idea why folk do this, but I is charmed: guerilla knitting in South Africa
Speaking of knitting, I've been making a lot of gloves and hats on request for folk, and I'm fixing to knit myself something more ambitious next. Perhaps the Zick zack tunic? (I'm fascinated with Melissa Wehrle's patterns right now) Or another pair of colorwork socks.... hmmmmmm (That last link goes to Ravelry, sorry. You'll want to be logged in.) Maybe I could take on another stole project and try to finish it this time?
I made this last night in an attempt to use up good whole wheat sourdough that had gone stale, and it was delicious! I actually think salting the veggies first (I used a fantastic combo of zucchini, red onion and green pepper) was really worth it: it seasoned the dish and minimized watery stuff in the custard when baked. Summer Squash Bread Pudding Good use of miscellaneous in-season vegetable bounty, much like fritata.
Recommendations for potato and kohlrabi uses will be much appreciated, incidently. I'm currently thinking of a curried potato and chard dish (and by thinking I mean "inventing") but I'm stuck in a kohlrabi fritata rut.
And lastly, this is just COOL: Not Your Mamma's Sharpie.
That was a kind of wimpy linkspam, but there you are.
