Reload page in style: site light

While I would have loved to have heard back on the house we want, confirming that we do, in fact, get to live there, some truly awesome things happened today:

1. Finished a draft of a journal article. WIN.
2. Found out one of my other writing projects is not something I need to do. Like, at all. A meeting will suffice? Excellent.
3. I had convinced myself that I had only a week to pack, for some reason. I have two! I fail at calendars but WIN AT HAVING MORE TIME.
4. Someone posted more SYTYCD at I heart. I heart them.
5. I started packing last night. Mind you, I only just started (four boxes of books), but it's something.

Thank goodness I got a draft of the paper done. Thank goodness I have more time to finish the draft of the grant and everything else. I might get through this move alive.

Well, it's a bummer, but we didn't get the house we wanted. Zoot.

The boy is so bummed, it's kind of adorable. But we've rallied and found another house with similarly gorgeous hardwood floors, and what we lose in cute neighborhood we gain in a garage. I think it'll be okay.

I hopre that what you end up with will be even better. My mother says that the minute we make a choice, or things change we can't 'what if' because everything changes. Garages are a good thing from my new england winter experience point of view. ;)

I know! We were a little shell-shocked at how hard it was to find a garage. It does snow there, after all.

I think we were already wary of the potential landlord's behavior. The only regret now is that we can't afford another trip to see the houses before we move. So either we show up, and househunt in the moment, or we commit sight-unseen. It's not ideal.

I do like the other house with a garage, though, it has beautiful light.

I had good luck with landlords, but, yikes....I've heard stories. Meep. sometimes you have to ask yourself, what would Scorpius do when faced with certain humans.

I'm looking forward to moving in the next year to a place with more windows.....and light. :)

since you are my housing therapist, I feel I must tell you that a conversation with the new house landlord was awesome, and it turns out the house is *still* near the cute neighborhood! WIN. So two bedrooms instead of four, but I thought four was excessive anyway (we are two people and a cat. Granted, the cat has a large personality, but he doesn't need his own bedroom--he sleeps on our feet preferably.)

I AM PLEASED.

Heee! Happy to be so, makes me consider my own process of condo hunting which will hopefully start by August. The real hunting versus the dreaming about it while scrolling through the listings. Anyway, that's awesome news, and seriously, the cat should sign the lease for a place like that.

Even if the cat doesn't get two more bedrooms just for napping. ;)
