Tentative title: Neap Tide

Story: apocalypse_kree team fic
Story due: in 6 days, I'm aiming for a crappy first draft at that point. Maybe.
Premise: 10 minute AU in Children of the Gods
Word count: 1700-ish
End: I HAVE NO IDEA (still)
Actual point where it goes AU: Right. Now.
Most interesting relationship so far: Teal'c and Sha're
Number of teammates who have been recognized in the story and named: 1 named, two noticed enough to comment on, but so far, unnamed.
Most interesting recent writing in the random bits that are coming to me: the last sentence/passage (not included in word count.) Although, Teal'c, hon, we aren't there yet, baby. (Teal'c is currently accepting hugs)

Stories absolutely anyone who's seen any Stargate episodes ever won't be spoiled for! I WIN AT NOT SPOILING PEOPLE.

...does it count as fanfic if you only take the first hour of canon from ten seasons' worth before you go AU? A question for the class to ponder.

(It's totally his fault that we're telling this story. He keeps calmly walking in to my down time and just STANDING THERE until I focus and figure out what comes next. This is rather brutal since I'm considering going waaaaaay off script.)

As a prompt, it definitely *started* me into the story, but I'm mildly concerned that I may never get to the point where it actually, you know, *applies* to the story I'm telling in a visible way. So that's why I don't know where this story is going to end yet. It feels way more epic than I've ever tried before, and I might... not... be up for epic. (Yes hello I am totally intimidated by my story. Argh. Enough with the emo, writer person!)

I would! After a short delay getting lost in wikipedia (like you do) while looking up 'neap tide' since I don't remember what it means specifically. :D

You could just ask. A neap tide occurs when the sun and moon are at 90 degrees relative to the Earth during the lunar cycle. It causes tides with the least range, which is to say that low tide and high tide are the least dramatically different. I like the idea of forces conspiring to constrict choices.
