Fanfic Recs (Sam/Daniel)

I realized I had passed the magic and arbitrary number of 10 fic recs featuring Sam and Daniel in a friendshippy or pre-ship or shippy kinda way, so I thought it was time for an extra special Wondertwins fanfic rec list (in no particular order).

From katie_m, Paths Worth Exploring, which is a Sam/Daniel prequel to the Jack/Sam/Daniel In the Wrong Story, which is marvelous and required apocafic reading.

Oh, hello... Sam and Daniel sparring, with Teal'c teasing and the physical and the sexy and the dirty all coming to the mat. Fighting as foreplay, ladies and gents, and all of them very nicely in character. Sparring, by psychofilly, Sam/Daniel(/Teal'c), PG-13 from an icon prompt.

agentotter wrote a snippet for cofax7 that is amazing early Sam and Daniel friendship, when Sam was wrapping her brain around going to other planets and Daniel was adjusting to so much loss, and all about a frog. Protective Resemblence, PG, gen.

moonshayde's Compromises. PG, lovely established relationship, vacation banter and people who read current research and know how wrong it is and bonding over that, without having to understand each other's fields.

wisdomeagle's Like Most Riddles (NC-17). I love this one for their emotional cluelessness, and how their understanding is so far behind their physical intimacy.

agentotter's wonderful Natural Light. (PG, friendship) reread, but bizarrely un-recc'd. I adore the siblings-goofing-off banter like nobody's business. Plus, during a time when I'm less inclined to read, O has actually hooked me with her opening paragraph (which I glanced at while flipping through the links I have open) and next thing you know, I've read the whole thing.

Learning to Fall, by Julie Fortune. *fangrrls RW for the tip* A gift with no caveats, friends with no barriers. Psychology of grief and inadequacy of coping, well rendered. Plus the idea of being two things: of Earth and Abydos, of science and military, well mirrored. NC-17.

From cofax7's This is Not Wartime, apocaseries, a reunion, but not private: Meet on the Ledge. AU from about season 7 on, after one day they don't pull of a miracle.

Zorb (lunatic_z) wrote a Sam/Daniel missing scene from The Scourge called Diplomacy, and it is pitch perfect Sam and Daniel, a counterpoint scene to Teal'c and Cameron's banter.

Did I tell you about nandamai's funny funny Sam/Daniel & Jack OT3 with Teal'c suffering? Teal'c suffers, man. ADEA? Adult for sex in the rain.

surrealphantast wrote a Sam/Daniel iconfic filled with nice detail.

From sage_theory wrote The Last Noel. Um, Christmas fic? It's not all warm fuzzies. Kinda makes it more magnificent, as snippets go.

*guh* Aliens Made Them... well, you know. The Rites Of Hedona by surrealphantast= Jennghis Khan. Bless her, this was HAWT. And, *guh*.

Mostly Harmless by betacandy. A fantastic S3 character study of Sam and Daniel, friendshippy, but great characterization of really smart people.

Early Sam/Daniel, really beautiful after Sha're: Take This Longing by tripoli8.

A nice friendship to lean on if you need more, plus there's a crinkly Daniel-frown: Unreasonable by Dith (=raqs).

Beautiful 'the Light' Sam and Daniel friendship: Natural Light by Otter (=agentotter). Really, the stuff that 'wondertwins' comments are made of.

Like Most Riddles by wisdomeagle Nice Sam/Daniel. You may want to read this prequel first (I did, and like whoa):The Gate of Moria

Also from wisdomeagle a descension fic that hurts, omg, so beautifully. Puppy Dogs' Tails.

Sam/Daniel UST with graphic Sam/Jack, but well done. That is to say, I can believe it if I squint a little bit. Still want to pet Daniel, though. Confessions of the Formerly Ascended by B. Cavis.

Sam/Daniel for a S6 challenge. Coooool. Midnight Visit by Fiona I always wondered if Abydos was really the first time Sam saw ascended!Daniel... 'parently not.

Surface Tension by troyswann. It's an amazing Sam centered fic, with a nice thread of her friendship with Daniel running through it. One of my favorite Sam fics.

lunatic_z has written a sequel to Taste called Of Reality. It is very very well done, and I'm considering pondering her really brilliant characterization building a non-canon relationship in more detail later. Suffice to say, Taste was sometime in Season 7, and it led very very nicely into S8 for the sequel, and I'm so glad. I believe I shall squee. Ahem. SQUEE!

Also, a darker, absolutely wonderful S/D smutfic by surrealphantast called Soul Broken. She's not really evil to Jack, unless you want to see it that way, but she'll warn you about it (ignore the warning, it's all about Daniel).

Beholder by raindroproses. Sam/Daniel pre-ship (is that like pre-slash?) or UST. It's a little shakey, but the sentiment is lovely.

Isomeric by surrealphantast Sam/Daniel for that 'Not exactly' comment from Ex Deus Machina.

Stargate SG-1 Fiction by Misbegotten Lurve the Sam & Daniel ones. 'Ergo, Urges' is great. I may have a thing for Urgo missing scenes that take enhanced senses to the next level. *ponders*

Slipping by Rowan Darkstar Lovely Sam & Daniel friendship. Kinda SNITy, too, but she's trying to deal.

Sportsbra by Peres Who knew? It's a PWP Sam/Daniel.

Margin by splash_the_cat Sweet little Sam & Daniel moment on the edge of angst. Friendshippy. I also *highly* recommend her parodies: Brotherly Love and Who's Your Daddy. Both Sam/Daniel with other stuff implied occasionally.

Of Elephants and Scientists by Jojo Resistant Sam/Daniel. Actually it's gen, wonderfully silly. And I love the idea of something so funny Teal'c can't keep from grinning. Bed Hopping is great too, though there are hints of S/J. Not quite enough to squick me, though.

Other Than Soulmates by raindroproses. Lovely and etherreal Sam/Daniel.

Feel better? I remember that one, read it before I read ADW, interestingly, and somehow forgot about before it was the three of them together. Huh. Now I get to rec This is Not Wartime in multiple posts!

That is very true. What is also true is that there is nothing updated on this list which says to me that perhaps I forgot to save the changes.
