Happy lunar New Year, guys. May the year of the rat treat you well!

Last Chinese New Year saw me in Bangkok, wandering the streets of the Chinese quarter and watching a parade disperse inside the gates of a temple. I went out to dinner that night in a mandarin-collar dress that had been made for me while I was traveling and delivered, finally tailored properly, that evening. All the waitresses at the restaurant Rebecca and I ate at that evening gave me good luck cards and admired my dusty blue dress.

Tonight, I will cook Asian dishes with my housemates whom I've lived with for 8 months. It's interesting how things change, isn't it?

I had beef and broccoli at the little Chinese restaurant in our little town. :-) Actually, we have two now, since Beijing Express opened up in the strip mall, but I try to give my business to King Hun, since it's not a chain. I wore red - I'm not sure why, but I know Chinese restaurants are often decorated in red and it means something good. Prosperity? I could use some....

My fortune cookie made no sense: Go for it. You never know whom you might run into (but Jack O'Neill would approve of the proper English).
