ba dum bum.
Mar. 6th, 2007 10:37 amThey have incredible will-power in this, and then it just becomes irrelevant. From
seperis, OT3, drugged and sensory and in character and very well written: Believe What You Breathe. Rodney/Teyla/John, NC-17.
Then, just to take it one step further, there's
sageness's fantastic OT4 Let Us Go Then, You and I. This is the team taking comfort in one another in ways they desperately need, and John clinging for far too long to his old-country rules about fraternization and what commitment has to mean. It's an incredible journey for John, and the relationships are all clear and wonderful between them, also features a good amount of talking and direction in bed, which I found both funny and realistic. NC-17, John/Rodney/Teyla/Ronon.
ltlj's day after the week before in Retrograde 'verse: Once John is reassigned to Atlantis, they have to move fast. SG-1's background antics are hilarious, the introduction of Lorne paints him as funny and quick and not a little worried. First Impressions, PG-13, gen.
From the lovely
ana_grrl, Five Ways Cameron and Teal'c Told the Rest of the Team They Were Moving In Together. HEE! Loved it. Mean it.
Also, it just possibly appears that being pimped into SPN watching, if not fannishness, has ruined the Wincest for me. I have shame, but it appears I shall not be slashing the very very pretty Sam and Dean. Which is a shame, frankly, because when I was significantly less versed in episodes I could totally go there. Alas. Missed opportunities and all. Farewell, sexy, uber-hot, brother lovin'. Farewell. (You, over there, taking bets. Stop that *right now*.)
Anyway.
minervacat did another lovely piece in her Valentine-verse, featuring There's a Girl Going Crazy About You and Valentine the Destroyer. This is the absence of Vala, or nearly so, and it's an amazing set-up. Amazing, and totally reasonable, actually. with all our sun-bleached history Daniel/Cameron, NC-17.
Shunda's wonderful and hot Cam/Teal'c snippet. NC-17, PWP, tactile and charactery and wonderful.
pellucid elegant Sam/Cam/Teal'c threesome is a fantastic example of comfort, knowing and willing and reasonable. Probably not enough to cover the loss, but enough to feel found. Attrition S10, through "Line in the Sand", NC-17.
surrealphantast has written some amazing Jack and wonderful Sam and Teal'c in the last month or so. This one is Sam and Teal'c and religion, and I love, I *love* anyone having this kind of conversation with Teal'c. Godless.
The Jack is her gorgeous
dark_gate fic All We Need of Hell, in an amazing Jack/Sam that I believed completely. Completely.
Speaking of Sam and Jack in all their stupid, fucked-up glory,
paian's Five Things Sam Wishes Jack Had Never Said in Bed is a glorious study in miscommunications and failure to forget.
I am woefully behind in telling you about extraordinary things that
synecdochic has been writing (and sometimes
ivorygates too, bless them.)
First up, a tag-team effort to write Cameron effectively out of his tight blue jeans, which, people, is All You Need to Know. Attention is gorgeous voyeuristic power-play, and is followed by Attuned, though it doesn't get any easier. The first is Syne, the second is Ivory, but it's a seamless hand-off. This is Cameron with Daniel, it's slash, it's NC-17 (really seriously NC-17.)
Next, Eurydice-verse, which is the team a few steps on the fucked up side of the psychology. This is Cameron and Daniel again, but getting into a significantly s/D relationship (explored fully blown in other fic in this 'verse.) This is set near Cam's 6 month anniversary with the team, and starts with a difficult, if informal, performance review from the team; the psychological complexity is fascinating. A Valley of Dry Bones, NC-17, just post Arthur's Mantle.
Following hard upon that one, Syne then posted a later Jack/Daniel from this 'verse as well at about the same time setting, more or less. Jack and Daniel in this are incredible friends but the heart of this 'verse is something like Daniel being just incapable of accepting affection from anyone. So this Jack, being the keen judge of people and character and deeply invested in his team, becomes what Daniel needs, but every once in a while his own needs surface. It's incredible how it all spun out. Grace Notes, D/s, NC-17.
Lastly, you all may have noticed that
jenlev had a birthday. The gorgeous thing about fandom celebrating birthdays is that the champagne never runs out before the late-comers arrive. In this case,
paian wrote a gorgeous S4 Jack/Daniel, romantic to the point of not needing any of the trappings, straight forward and sweet and still our two men, struggling to reconcile what they have and what they want and what they still need to do. Shedding Light, NC-17, lovely.
ETA: oh, oh, oh hey. Yes. So Talion is available from the internet truck, though it hasn't aired in most parts of the world. And it, as Rydra says, screams for fanfiction tags.
janedavitt gets points for being the first (my scheme to write them has been hijacked by the characters, film at 11) to post any sort of tag. This is a drabble, established relationship, Cam POV, and heartbreaking with an economy of words: Marked Up, R rated-ish.
Come play in the ocean, seriously. There cannot be too many tags for that episode, and Rydra will love you forever.
Towards that end,
paian is currently hosting an awesome episode discussion in her LJ here.
ETA2: I've been forgetting this one:
dknightshade wrote an incredible Jack and Teal'c friendship story ca S4, it's about bearing witness in the face of discomfort, about understanding the ways one shows emotion and respecting strength. Incredible. Golden, PG rated, missing scene from 2010.
Then, just to take it one step further, there's
