feather_autant's, weekend porn) that assume the first time Jack and Daniel slept together it was a bit of a whirlwind thing, but that the rest of the night or weekend afterwards was the story. Which is fascinating because even if they both wanted each other, even if it had been from the beginning, even if they could make it work and all of that... years is a very long time to build up habits of repressing and avoidance. And years is a long time to get to know a person, their strengths and weaknesses and buttons and potential for assholery.
I like that they wouldn't necessarily work all of this out before they fall into bed.
This is the other fic I've read on the subject, just posted, in which Jack processes, or tries to process, and quashes memories of, what the hell just happened. It is gorgeous. The need Jack and Daniel have for each other plays out in conversation and half-verbalized answers; Jack is so smart and overwhelmed and threat-assessing and strategizing and Daniel is so worried and quiet and diplomatic and prepared for anything. Canon for a Minor Key, bytaselby. Jack/Daniel, NC-17. Highly recommended.
