Some of my favorite authors have ficc'd today. Dear god.

astolat has written two very different pieces; one is a wonderful humorous bit for merryish in merrymakings: Wear Sunscreen. John and Rodney and Ronon. SGA.

The other is some of the hottest, omg my brain has exploded, never mind that it's gendermessed crack!fic, threesome action EVER. John/Rodney/Ronon and a third installment of It Stops Being Funny at Skirts (svmadelyn)/Skirting the Issue (thisisbone). NC-17, really. And hawt, did I mention? But Some Things Never Stop Being Funny.

Okay. Now. paian has written a wonderful S9 married, long distance, love of the 'if you love someone, set them free and then call them up to have hot and sweet phone sex' variety. One of the most amazing things about paian's writing, I do b'lieve, is her use of really amazing details to tell you who people are in their strengths and weaknesses in amazing, intimate, I-know-you-so-well-even-your-wierdnesses-are-normal-now ways. It's gorgeous how she does it. The Pond Pry Scene (Encrypted Phones #2), Jack/Daniel, adult.

And sdraevn, popularly known as Danvers on the street, mused about the spirituality of SG-1 and the SGA gang, and wrote this: When Daniel Jackson Met God. Oh, but the man could out-stubborn God, couldn't he? Cool discussions in the post and comments.

Someone write me Teal'c in a cathedral, I would love to know what he would think.

Speaking of, I continue to be inspired by prompts over at the tealc_ficathon (16 people! RW has wittily noted that we may be single handedly doubling the amount of Teal'c fanfic out there with this ficathon. Come visit! Sign up!) and I've written a gen-ish piece in prequel to throwing Cam and Teal'c in bed together for taselby... Anyway, my lovely beta very tactfully pointed me to this website: Turkey City Lexicon in which multiple SF writing, plotting and characterizing cliches are pointed out, discussed and humorously named. I spent far too long sniggering when I should have been editing. Hee!

Wouldn't that be amazing? Because rejection of false gods, but then no proof of something else to believe in, but a nobility that suggests that he would like the ideals of spirituality...

Still, how would he react to the kinds of beauty that have been inspired by religion? Would it be familiar? Would he be awed? And by the skill it must have took or the inspiration or the subject it was dedicated to?

I wanna be there. I totally want to be there when he walks in.

Yeah, you're gonna want to calm down just a leeeettle bit. The gen-ish bit is nearly done, but there are a couple of bits that just aren't quite right. Then, I need to find some time to let Teal'c and Cameron discuss vanilla ice cream. They have a lot to say on the subject, I think.

Yup, my noggin is a cozy place, filled up of all kinds of thoughts in various stages of grown up, and lots of blankets and earmuffs (the purple ones are my favorite.) Sometimes I wish I could get a few of the grown up fic ideas to move out on their own, though. It's got to wait until the beta is satisfied, though, and the beta, she is wonderfully demanding (meanwhile I get these flashes of skin and laughter as Cam and Teal'c get tired of the flirty fic and want to get to the 'all the clothes are now off!' fic. Impatient boys.)

It's an effective fic-writing strategy, I found - make them be gen for a while, and they spontaneously get pornish.
