Everybody and their mother has been shouting about this fic, and if you haven't read it yet, You Should. It's Mitchell backstory with Sheppard in Afganistan; with Mitchell this fine, upstanding 'so what's wrong with you? I can't find it.' young officer, and Sheppard is slouchy and insubordinant and poised to be a great leader and poised to destroy his career. It's like oil and water, and their Afganistan missions are fire.

frostfire_17, props to you. Voices = perfect (especially for Cameron, who I think is difficult to get a handle on, this early), interaction = intense, payoff = huge. This is fantastic: Here Is No Water.

And now he had to deal with Sheppard, who on the one hand behaved exactly like he always had to Cameron, and was just as irritating and just as too-friendly, but on the other hand wore the face and the body of this person who had slid down Cameron’s body mouthing a pilot’s epitaph.

Holy crap is right! I started reading this this morning, but damn, I ran out of time before I had to come to work. Seems I was reading something else, too. Lip Service or something....Oh, wait! I think that was yours! ;) Must remember to fb later. I just CANNOT get online enough these days.

I might be sorta writing a little more of that... for a challenge elsewhere that is for kissing, so I figure I ought to take it to the point where someone actually does, but the thing is, I really don't care to resolve the tension entirely, so it might be and eeeeeevil sequel that involves a little bondage perhaps... may have to discuss with Sid, and I'll have to have it beta'd, obviously...

But, being the spoiler wh0re you know me to be, I of course read the hidden bits and ZOMG! What vivid imagery that produced. Excellent writing, by the looks of it. Can't wait...2 more hours.

Oh yeah, it's a gud 'un. The intensity is just there, from beginning to end. Tension. You'll appreciate it, I think. Just the characterization of Mitchell alone is stunning.
