Weird Things Meme
[livejournal.com profile] sgflutegirl just tagged me. Oh dear.

Ground rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "Five Weird Habits of Yourself" and the people who get tagged need to then write an LJ entry about their five quirky little habits as well as state the rules of this game clearly. In the end, you need to list the next five people who you want to tag, and then go on to leave a tag comment on their LJ.

1. Despite the occasional bungee jumping adventure, I'm really a home body, and it's important to me that my space is comfortable.
2. I'm really frugal. This is not just an effect of having been a student forever. But when I decide to spend money, I seriously binge and will go travel the world and buy gifts like mad and eat well and goodbye positive bank balance.
3. I talk in strange voices to my dog.
4. I am disinclined to wear clothing just for the sake of wearing clothing (pajamas come to mind). Now, if I'm cold, then heck yeah, clothing.
5. I sing in my head a lot. I've learned over the years that singing out loud a lot alarms people, but sometimes I slip and don't realize that I'm making noise or humming. You have to sing in the shower, it's a rule.

Now I'm supposed to tag people. It's hard to tag people. Feels like foisting off an obligation or something.

Disclaimer: you really needn't if you don' wanna.

I tag: [livejournal.com profile] bugchicklv, [livejournal.com profile] becky_monster, [livejournal.com profile] ana_grrl, [livejournal.com profile] moonshayde and [livejournal.com profile] or_mabinogi.

lol. See, though with animals? Then they KNOW that you're talking to them because they hear the difference in your voice. And by 'my dog' I really mean my parent's pup, who obviously loves me best (because who wouldn't?) but actually doesn't live with me.

It hurts to be without a pet. It's not right. But then, I couldn't do right by a pet, wouldn't ever be home, no quality romping time... it's really best this way.

Though I would love a dog. And I have dangerous contacts in the veterinary business who occasionally need to place stray puppies in homes and will beg their friends. How can you turn that down? I hope she doesn't ask me...

oh yes, they do indeed know you're talking to them. i have a photo of a dog i adore. he's just coming around the corner of a house in response to me calling him. he's got the best look on his face, as if he's saying a *big* grinning hello. makes me happy just to look at it.

and i miss having an animal too, but i'm also in the situation where i'm not around enough. *sigh* i'll know when the time's right. i need to win the lottery so i can have a cat that won't be home all day alone. ;)

I don't sing in the shower usually. I'm not sure why. I do sing all the time, though, in other places--usually if no other music is playing, though I've been known to sing along (badly) to music, I don't always do that, but I do sing in my head and sometimes accidentally sing out loud. If I'm alone and/or forget I'm not alone (i.e. in a store), I will actually sing aloud.

Now I'm supposed to tag people. It's hard to tag people. Feels like foisting off an obligation or something.

I always feel this way about tagging, too, so I just don't do it any more. It always feels like passing along a chain letter to me. I may snag this one from everyone who's done it anyway, though. :-)

Don't you hate those forwards that say something like 'just to make you smile!!!' but then inform you that you'll have a badgillion years of bad luck if you don't spam at least 5 of your favorite people.

*snork*

Glad to hear you are voluntarily ganking, though. It's cool to learn random stuff about people.

As for singing, though, my room used to be in the attic right over my brothers room, and he was not so pleased with me singing to myself at night. Used to throw stuff at his ceiling and sort of roar at me to shut up (volume depended on how tired he was.)

Oh, yes, I hate those chain emails. I never pass them on even if they masquerade as public service messages. Many of them I recognize as emails I saw going around 10 years ago! hehe

The other day I actually embarrassed my kids by singing in Best Buy. We were looking at CDs, and I had to sing a little bit of every song on them. This isn't quite the same as singing to myself, but just as embarrassing when I realized I was doing it. :-)
