Down with imposter syndrome!
Jul. 23rd, 2010 08:10 pmMy sweetheart has had a rough day today, but I read him this story of Comiccon counterprotesting the Westboro excommunicated Baptist Church hate-mongers, and the guy holding an All Glory to the Hypnotoad! cardboard sign made him happy.
The posts have begun for tenure-track positions starting next year, and one hit it pretty much out of the ball-park in terms of being right for me, and in a left coast state. Panic level = mauve.
Also, the day before that posting went live? I finished a draft of my job application packet. Technically, and to all outward appearances, I have this totally under control.
I need to renew my Dreamwidth paid account, but I never have my debit card nearby when it occurs to me. Curses!
I felt like I had no direction and got nothing done today, which is probably not true. Student P made huge progress, partly because he checked things with me a lot. I managed a meeting, avoided a migraine, got some relevant emails sent, and checked up on shit. Maybe it was just anti-climactic after finishing the application draft?
My family descends on Wednesday.
Have a photo. This was when I was on vacation (EONS AGO.) This was stand-up paddleboarding and splunking combined. On an island. There were boats. And there may have been smootching. The photos where I was actually standing didn't turn out, so I'm sit-down paddling here.
