Because RL and fandom lines sometimes blur: met
kres again, and this time we actually spent enough time together to stop discussing the U.S., theater, books and cooking etc, to actually get around to the odd fannish discussion. And Jensen Ackles is less than a year younger than I am, which makes me feel a great deal better about lusting after the dude just a little bit (I mean, he is awfully pretty).
In other news.
minervacat, who has just been impressing my socks off lately, has also written a really nice Harry Potter fic that is backstory for Remus and Sirius (and James and Lily) after graduation, before things went to hell. I adore Sirius/Remus backstory more than any other pairing in this fandom, and in this case, Sirius is particularly adorable in his puppiness, and Remus is being a worrywart and blindsided. It's just lovely. There is a Boy Who Never Goes Out, PG-13.
cjandre wrote a first time bdsm for John and Rodney, then followed it up with a nice awkwardness and coming to an understanding. Something New, which follows Something to Remind You. Both bdsm and NC-17.
I must admit that I was not really aware that there were people out there writing Dark Angel, but it's helping me remember what I really liked about the series--and forget where it fell down on the job.
elishavah brings it all back to the best of the show. This is season two, and really nice Alec with a wonderfully loyal and sweet Original Cindy. And Max sleeping like a cat. Wake Up Call, set during Hello, Goodbye, gen.
Two ficlets:
paian wrote a Jack/Daniel piece where they hurt and they take care of each other and reach that tentative truce where Daniel gets to be right... but it's a long, slow hurt in S8, before Jack leaves, and I love/hate knowing what's coming. You Can Fall for Chains of Silver, NC-17, a too late to make the porn battle ficlet. Dog tags and senses and whiskey and fire and love.
[And you all need to go read her
dark_gate fic Palimpsest too, just in case you haven't yet. It's glorious and awesome and gen and hurty and glorious.]
sugargroupie wrote a late Season 2 Farscape interlude: half-asleep and a moment where they realize they're on the same page, even though they still don't think they are most of the time. Aeryn/John, comfort in the denial, feels like canon. R, This Shared Discontent.
Five things from
splash_the_cat: Five Resolutions Sam Carter Broke (for me yay!). Gen, and annoyingly similar to resolutions I've broken.
nialla42 has been writing snarky Breadbox Editions for favorite early episodes from Stargate (like Mystery Science Theater, if you're new to the series) and has just posted Absolute Power: The Breadbox Edition.
kellifer_fic posted a happy-sad little amnesia ficlet about Daniel and Vala, and who they would be if they forgot who they were. Sam's reactions are aching, Vala's wit is sweet and funny. Loss, PG.
I am reading: Superman Never Dealt With This Shit, by
amireal, John/Rodney, NC-17.
And now? NOW? Now to choose between two wonderfully flist enabled television watching adventures-- Rome or Supernatural? Supernatural or Rome? How do I chooooooooooose?
