I totally understand. It's a beautiful state, but I've never been able to stand being more than about 30 minutes from the ocean myself either. I will sometimes book a room on a place out at the beach on the weekends or just go out for the day, and head out to the surf with a blanket, some beverages, and some reading material and enjoy the sounds of the ocean and the seabirds.
