AO3 updated with complete works
Jul. 20th, 2014 11:20 pmTo make things simpler, and because I'm active enough in fandom now to know where all the kids are playing, I checked my AO3 works page and found it really lacking. Less than half of my fic were there. Turns out I wrote 29 stories while in the SG-1 fandom.
I updated my page with all my stuff. Or, I am updating it. I have a half a dozen more drafts to proof (when did I write all this?) but it's almost there. So, if anyone ever needs that material (Teal'c fic anyone? Anyone jonesing for old-school SG-1 slash? Yes?), it's in a proper archive, y'all.
ETA: updated! wow. The process was a little buggy--I couldn't edit the fandom or date originally published or remix links very easily, but I think everything is legible.

Date: 2014-07-21 09:16 pm (UTC)I reply to comments when I get them, and sometimes conversations do start. But you're right -- I'm more apt to get into conversations here than on the archive even tho it has that threaded comments feature.
I've learned that people come into different environments online with all kinds of expectations. For example, people have quit posting here because of Twitter, because they have this assumption that posts on an actual blog have to be long.
And I do know writers who never answer comments on the archive.
But if you want to have a conversation and/or create a community, you have to reply. So that's what I do! I like knowing people.
But it's been fascinating to watch the changes in internet platforms since 2002 when I discovered online fandom.

Date: 2014-07-22 02:25 am (UTC)Did you know you can't edit the "originally posted on..." field? Half a dozen stories ended up with yesterday as their post date, but I couldn't edit it to reflect the actual date. *shrug*

Date: 2014-07-22 04:11 am (UTC)It's been a long while, but I believe I recall using this feature when I originally posted my early Yuletide stories to AO3 and when I brought over my completed Kim Possible works from FF.Net. (There are still some incomplete KP stories of mine over on FF; it doesn't seem fair to bring those across until or unless I actually finish the stories, which is unlikely to occur in the near term -- though One Never Knows.)
