Mental As Anything 4.14
You know, I really rely on these previouslies, but Farscape is so awesome it takes me right bacck to the moment as soon as I hear the vocalizations in the theme song.
Ooooh, an Earth-based story? Or maybe not.
Nothing more between us, and a big smile. I’ve heard the controversy with that, that they didn’t earn the moment, but the idea that they know they have to play hatred is really interesting.
John is going to a mental discipline class and Aeryn is babysitting. T.V. sounds better.
Oh, John is searching out information too? Seems like he could actually use some mental discipline, but it also seems like it’d be about the last thing he’d agree to do.
D’Argo backstory, ooooh. Hey, their proctor is a fairly ruthless dude, eh? Too bad their brain crystals have activated.
The wonders I’ve seen! Woot woot!
Tormented is a great word. And that actually looks like a woman who could handle D’Argo, though she looks nothing like Chiana.
John won’t play. Don’t know how that’s going to go down, seems late in the game to spring that on the instructor (like when he already has a blue crystal in your temple).
Begin what? Pain from a cube of light? This is odd.
Scorpius makes some bizarrely alien pain faces.
Rygel’s idea of a fair fight is one where he has advantage? Right, Rygel.
So D’Argo’s nemesis is a brown-noser too? With bad facial hair. No wonder we don’t like him. Has no one noticed that John isn’t in line?
They create oodles of slime on this show. It’s fascinating to see which aliens ooze it from which orifices. Hey, Rygel’s brain crystal is on his nose!
Oh, John. Does that even bother you, a cage?
Huh, Scorpius is determined to push Crichton into intensive training.
It’s interesting that D’Argo and Lohlan keep talking about hurting her like it would be a single strike, or some healable injury. The allegation is that he went from no visible bruises to killing. Seems unlikely.
D’Argo wants the truth, now.
I love the Australian accents.

And John looks… bad. Is John being abandoned or about to rescue D’Argo? D’Argo’s wife committed suicide? I believe that she was not telling D’Argo about rages, but suicide seems uncharacteristic. D’Argo thinks so too. Way to control the shrieking and go all bad ass on whatshisface.
Nice callback to their son. That wasn’t enough rage for a pacifist like that to pull a knife, was it? Oh, okay, maybe it was. The beating her after she died to frame D’Argo was powerful and darkside.
Scorpius rolls the R in ‘Grayza’ with quite a trip. You do always attract the psychos, John, wish you’d do something about that.

Previouslies: Scorpius frames himself as a bodyguard. Or a brainguard. Or a wormhole-technology-information guard.
You know, Sikozu has an odd fetish for dead leviathans.
Chiana is laughing at the lewd humor, Grandma is sussing out the chemicals, Aeryn is the muscles, Sikozu is the negotiator.
Huh, Chiana’s negotiation tactics, Grandma says no, Aeryn says a number. So interesting! What a great dynamic! Ooops, Peacekeepers. OOPS, GRAYZA AND BRACA.

Hey, did John always say he wanted to get back to warn Earth? In the opening?
Oh, I love Aeryn’s dangerously controlled voice.
And the white women were condescending, so Chiana calls them on it. So interesting.
Hey, shape-changing as a thwart for Chiana suddenly presents itself as a solution.
Fun that Aeryn and Sikozu are on exactly the same wavelength about the gathering of intel, but of completely differing opinions about what the hell to do. I like Aeryn’s plan, meself. Intel!
They can’t seriously believe Grayza is negotiating for peace like this…
“I wasn’t thinking of talking; I have a gun.” I love Aeryn. Also, those two do exposition very smartly.
“Would you leave a weapon in your arsenal unused out of some squeamish sense of good taste?” Heh heh heh. I think I like Grayza a lot right now.
Also, hey Grandma and Chiana getting cozy and snarky at the same time? Heeee!
Lethal women. Aeryn can’t get a shot off at her target, but it looks like Ahkna (Fran, right?) is doublecrossing Grayza. Braca suffers prettily.

Previously, we lost Aeryn.
Another Earth episode? Fun to hear their full names, but I don’t know what kind of crack we might get on a newsshow satire.
Rygel does tend to speak uncomfortable truths. So John is obsessed with an intercepted schlock T.V. show because he can watch interviews with Aeryn?
I know scientists like their talking heads.
D’Argo really is a mother hen.
Yes, John is different. His hair has changed at least once a season. The criminologist has a very fluid accent.
What an interesting xenophobia, that mixed species might be everybody’s business.
Chiana is so hurt that Earth can’t welcome them. Oh God, Chiana is eating make-up.
Heh, the former sheriff is a little loony. “VEGETABLES. FRUIT. NO SATURATED FAT.”
I still don’t understand the meaning of Sikozu saying ‘Katrotse’ while dressed as Stark.
John’s going to make a deal with the devil for Aeryn? I can’t remember if Aeryn said the Katrotse was a base when she was an android or not, but I keep feeling like it’s silly to go on her belief like that.

Oh, god, yes. I LOVED Aeryn in there and the glimpse we get of the gods the Peacekeepers (used to) have and CB delivers that big SO AMAZINGLY.
And John and Scorpius in alternate world not liking how the other does things? Just. WOW.
