minxy1. I think we should name our first band "Mutant Love Child". The Boy I Left Behind favors "Oxy and the Morons". Does he win for oblique science reference?
2. I am knitting the most ridiculously wonderful colorwork socks ever, and I'm 80% done. I havesarah and synecdochic to thank for giving me the Knit Picks Palette sock yarn. If I didn't have so many single balls of color, I wouldn't have taken this one, and I LOVE THESE SOCKS.

2b. Next week, I am touring Schaefer Yarns in the Fingerlakes! OMG!
3. I get to go pick up new glasses tomorrow, and I got two frames this time: one is a tortoise-shell/sexy librarian kind of look (or, one hopes, sexy professora) and the other is a deceptively mild-mannered looking wire frame from the front, but it has lime-green temple pieces. It made me happy. My current pair has served me well for five years, but now they're permanently askew on my face. I really don't thing the 'permanently quizzical' look is the kind of professoral look I'm going for.
