Unrealized reality.
Previouslies: wormhole, wormhole, wormholes. John’s got it, remember?
John in spaaaaaaaaace! Hi Moya. Hey, they are following up with Aeryn learning English. And that’s a pretty image of the girls inside and John floating aimlessly out in space.
And finally someone caught up with John’s drug problem. Thank you D’Argo, that was a good try, buddy.
Huh, Sikozu and Scorpius. Huh. And Huh.
Ooops, John got caught in the wormhole. Erm.
And on the other side, a man in a suit, standing on a small glacier, with a vocabulary of exactly one word.
…And hey, Zhaan! Hey D’Argo’s first season make-up! John is really excited to hit his marks in that flashback.
Back with the suit, discussing relativity. And liabilities and interesting, fascinating objectivity.
And, wow, that really is Claudia in Chiana’s make-up, right? Like, why, though?
Wow, the danger is how much destruction John could cause? It’s interesting, given the cracktastic Princess story that rather highlighted how much destruction follows him around.
John, you so knew she’d fight dirty. You end up right back on the ground between Aeryn’s legs. Can’t see that you really resisted getting pinned.
And wow, she broke his neck. Huh, he was being cheeky. Can’t see that as unreasonable.
So, so many people trusted John, he’s trying to understand too.
I didn’t know Sikozu could do that.
I am not your pawn/then let us proceed. Huh. Unrealized reality, bad. IS THAT SCORPY? What’s with the make-up in this scene? Oh, this world’s been conquered by Scarrans, huh? Leads to bad make-up. Although the implication that this reality could have made John so much like Scorpius is awesome.
That very very pretty woman, Caroline? Keeps reminding me of Rachel Luttrell.
Harvey knew? That is so cool.
Oh look! They’re all in each other’s make-up! Coolness. Oh, dear God, of course D’Argo is dressed like Jool. I kind of love Pilot swearing up a blue streak.
D’Argo. D’Argo. D’ARGO.
Creeptastic bear hug from Crais.
Too risky, all of it. Best to leave me. Suddenly afraid. And fear is the correct answer. Interesting. Very. Wow.
John is kind of like a hobbit in the way he’s going to find solutions by giving things back. There’s just no knowledge he wants that much.
…Except that he apparently sent himself to Earth. Uh oh. That can’t be good.
Kansas.
Previouslies: Grayza is scorned. John’s got wormholes, obsessively. Chatting with Einstein, go navigate. Except, hi, not *there*.
Now, oops, we’re at Earth. Not on it, precisely, but there you go.
John is going to take Moya to Earth? Oh, D’Argo is going to take the module and go get John. And that’s one of the first times I’ve seen D’Argo be captainy with Pilot and Moya, very sweet.
Okay, so they’re all going to get him, huh? And John’s singing 99 bottles and he’s down to 6.
Okay, so John arrived at proper Moya time, but the wrong Earth time? So they’re going DOWN ONTO THE PLANET? During the Reagan Era? Do we not have issues with the whatsit? The satellite protection system Reagan was all over? No one is looking at John waltzing about in leathers.
Ooooh, the Challenger. That is just so iconic to me. I think most modern-setting Scifi shows reference it at some point. In the future, shows will be able to reference other crazy tragedies like the two towers and people will instantly place the year.
Aw, lookit John getting so excited about jeans. And milk.
Aw, the Moyan’s found TeeVee! And the middle finger! Aww, Aeryn is so cute learning English. And with Sesame Street. She’s all about Cookie Monster.
So Chiana know’s some English, but she’s speaking a lot with Little!John.
And then there’s D’Argo with the football jersey and (and a black man underneath! Aeryn’s brother, natch)
Cute moment with John talking to his mom, whom he hasn’t seen in years. Interesting that Crichton and little!Crichton were talking about how she was treated. Nice understanding of his mother’s peacemaker nature.
Grandma, more with the drugging, and Now! New Cookie Monster references! The woman from next door is going to need so much therapy.
Oh. Poor Pilot.
Rygel is on a sugar high. That is ridiculously frightening.
“You’re dead.” Braca, you live in a SciFi show, hun. …Wow, kiss to the forehead was anything but chaste.
That was also a nice moment there, where Aeryn held John’s hand for a moment. He pointed after her and watched where she went. I almost completely missed the rest of the conversation.
Chiana’s observation of Crichton’s parents is fantastic. As is her take on Crichton’s girl and Little!Crichton. The mini-Crichton and Chiana in the back of the truck in the garage is amazingly sweet.
Only the death of little!Crichton is somewhat problematic. You know, Grandma’s solutions are never not yucky.
Sweet moment with John’s shadow and his Mom. Only in SciFi, man. I love how strong her belief is.
The postures of the cops? *snort* How quickly they all just do what needs to be done? Grand.
Try not to frown so much? *lip wibble*
Hey, those two listening to the cop’s ridiculous story, very Mulder and Scully. No human could have made this? Dude, you gonna need therapy too.
Hi Pilot! Hey, Aeryn has a sense of wormholes now? She said ‘here it comes’! And John managed to navigate the wormhole back to the correct time? Or not. Um. ‘Bass or trout,” I’m assuming, is a reference to Crichton’s past, but seriously, this is going to be good---HEY, YOU CAN”T LEAVE OFF THERE. Drat.
Oh well, I have the next disc!

Date: 2008-03-08 07:05 am (UTC)Also, as I'm apparently living someone else's life in the next few weeks and have some free time, if you're around, I'd love to get coffee or anything! I'm very, very happy to come up to you since I've got the time, or meet somewhere in the middle!

Date: 2008-03-08 07:09 am (UTC)In a few weeks I'm heading back to Oregon to see my grandmother... it's been a bad week, and a long story, but she'll be in Oregon. This weekend or next, though, I can meet any afternoon.

Date: 2008-03-08 08:01 am (UTC)It's been a while since I've seen it, but I recall having the theory that Braca knew perfectly well Scorpy wasn't dead, but was play-acting for the benefit of anybody who might have been listening at that point.
…Wow, kiss to the forehead was anything but chaste.
Um... Yes. :) *badly needs to get back to working on that stalled-out Scorpy/Braca story*
‘Bass or trout,” I’m assuming, is a reference to Crichton’s past
It harks back to "A Human Reaction," where John was talking to his fake dad about some fish he caught when he was a kid, and fake!Dad couldn't remember whether it was a bass or a trout. I love the little continuity touches like that on this show. :)

Date: 2008-03-08 12:50 pm (UTC)And Kansas. Oh yeah, happy happy happy.
I really can't be any more articulate than that. Even after all this time just thinking of Unrealized Reality makes me all goofy. Ok, goofier. ;)

Date: 2008-03-10 04:33 am (UTC)Also, I'm amused at how you got to cruise right from UR to "Kansas", given that on the original airing schedule, those two were interrupted by about seven months AND A CANCELLATION. Oy. By the time "Kansas" aired, anything less than utter brilliance was seen as catastrophe. ::sigh::
