Farscape.

Season 3, episode 19 I-Yensch, You-Yensch.

I would just like to say that the title leaves me rather baffled going in, but this is part of what I love about Farscape. (Oh Farscape, I missed you! I didn’t leave because your titles are smarter than I am, I swear it! I just needed a little space!)

Aw, they recapped all the sadnesses. That was… nice of them? *sniffles all over again*

DANG IT, AERYN, STOP MAKING ME CRY.

I don’t remember Chiana seeing things before. When did she start seeing dead people Peacekeepers?

And D’Argo the fabulous and Rygel the incredibly foul are being double-crossed by Scorpius, which you know, D’Argo totally saw coming. OOOoooooh, do the tongue thing again! Do it again!

Oh hey! Not double-crossed! How surprising! Way to see it coming, Rygel. Way to bash people in irritation, D’Argo.

Why are those people making so much food if D’Argo and Rygel are their only customers? They are really flipping out about the PKs there.

The Charans? Whomever it is that Rygel just said were the reason John wanted to get on Scorpius’s ship… Scorpius had a really brilliant ‘ooooh, something you’re scared of? Delicious!’ face that he made when that happened.

Jool being dragged by Chiana is surprisingly charming. She’s kinda grown on me, has Jool. I partly like her so much because Chiana does, and yet still has that crazy irritation all the time.

Talyn is being a feisty teenager. Love Jool turning on Chi.

I-Yensch bracelets? Sychronized nerve impulses? WEIRD. Leading to some fun physical acting, though. “I invite you, Dominar, to attack the lieutenant.” “Bwahahahaha!” Nice, Rygel.

They’re being robbed? How sublimely mundane an issue! Creepy-ass weird blue people. Zhaan was blue and I liked her a lot more. Possibly because Zhaan didn’t do the creep-assed vocalizations.

Mind-wipe Talyn? Can’t imagine Chiana would be really excited about that.

“If you had a plan, which (don’t get upset!) doesn’t seem to be the case…” Go Rygel, you are so ahead of folk here. Methinks Scorpius is getting juuuust a smidge displeased with him and his one-upsmanship, though.

HEY, Aeryn has a shirt on that seems to be fleece. Fashion excitement.

Aeryn and John are speaking! Yay! Yay for mending bridges. Smootch, kids, c’mon. What this story needs is some sexing, seriously. Sexual healing and stuff…. Okay, fine, save the day instead. I stand by my earlier statement, though.

CLAUDIA BLACK QUIT RIPPING OUT MY SOUL WITH YOUR ACTING STUFF.

Creepy stupid blue people.

Huh, Scorpius and Rygel are working together? AWESOMECAKES.

Foodie? He is not so smart. Nope.

I love the truth being the hardest to believe. I also love how expressive Rygel is.

Though I admit to being baffled by a gun that can slam Scorpius across the room but doesn’t have a recall that would rock Rygel’s floaty chair even a little.

Crais and Aeryn and John on Talyn is such a complicated mess of emotions.

Scorpius really is such a badass, I think it’s the black gums. I quite enjoy him.

And John and Aeryn are talking. Wow. They say so fucking much when they don’t say anything. I MEAN, SERIOUSLY.

Episode 3.20 Into the Lion’s Den part 1: Lambs to the Slaughter.

Moya is under great stress but enduring. Check. Jool and Chiana are doing the irritated banter and everyone else is either irritated or perplexed by them, check. John and Aeryn have levels of sexual tension heretofore unseen, OMG PEOPLE.

Ooooooh, handshake. Just when you thought John and Aeryn were all the sexual tension one show could hold, Scorpius arrives to make googlieyes at John and shake his hand. *shivers*

Also, they are officially completely nuts for doing this.

Wow, Aeryn walked across a room and picked up some glasses and a bottle and it was about the bravest thing I’ve seen from her yet. And she got shamed by someone she loved. So much discomfort.

Scorpius is really doing his damnest to make this work, very interesting. Wonder if he’s sincere in that or pulling a double cross.

Aw, Crais has a honey. You go with your crazy love affairs.

Hey, Harvey on board with John’s scheme is rather fantastic. And there goes Chi with wacky visions again. And Pilot screaming will probably break me.

Aw, man. DON’T HURT PILOT.

Grayza. Huh. Is she Sebacean? She has funky ears. She is also hella creepy.

It’s amazing to me, having seen Claudia Black play Vala, that she can convince me so absolutely about her ability to fight a man roughly twice her size. With a weapon.

Ooooh, rocketman! Anyone else ever see that movie? What was it called, The Rocketeer? That was entertaining.

Aw, John and Scorpius as old married couple. Soft spot you hit, there, Scorp. Oh, yeah, I guess he knew that. Poor John. Nothing is sacred, dude. You did walk into a scorpions…nest… I. Wow. I seriously did not intend that pun.

Must stop before I am delirious with sleepy. Hey--there's a cat outside my window. Cat, hon, you don't live in here. I'm going to sleep.

I hate those blue guys in "I-Yensch," but Rygel and Scorpius are so awesome together that I desperately want to see them team up and fight crime. Or, as is more likely, commit crime.

And all I have to say about "Into the Lion's Den" is, OMFG, wait until you see part 2! :)

Hee!!!!!

And all I have to say here is that part 2 of "Into the Lion's Den"? My very favorite episode of this and possibly every other television show EVER. Although lots of Farscape fans tend to prefer the episode after that, which is probably my second or third favorite episode of the series. The end of season 3 is made of mind-blowing awesome. :D

One of those blue guys (the one with the pointier nose) bears an uncanny resemblance to Ricky Manning, the executive producer of the show. I suspect this was not a coincidence.

(Ricky was, and is, beloved of the cast and the fandom: I'm sure it was good-natured teasing.)

IS SHE HOLDING BACK ON ME????

...actually, you fabulous Farscape people have been just brilliant about not spoiling me for anything save the occasional 'omg I can't wait until you see two more episodes!' squee. So, the vid could be referencing some episodes I haven't seen yet or something. Still...

WAIT.

Your favorite episode? Not one of the one's I've already seen? Because those, those were incredible.

It boggles the mind that this show keeps outdoing itself.

I'm home sickish today, so I think I may watch the next two episodes, since I have them.

The next house over, I guess it's actually several flats in the shape of a house, has a number of incredibly curious cats. One of them is named Luke Skywalker (big light grey cat with blue eyes) who has not only come into our townhouse when the door was propped open for a minute, but nearly got shut in the garage once when he came in as I was looking for a baking pan in one of my boxes. I only found him because he meowed just as I was shutting the door.

This cat, I don't know his name, but he is out a lot at night and has freaked the hell out of me by jumping in my window if I leave it far enough open. That was the first time he asked permission to come in (I have one small window that's jumpable, but I also have a pair of French doors with panes of glass to the floor--he was looking in the doors). I suspect this is because I prefer to not get freaked out by unexpected cat guests in the middle of the night and keep the window only cracked with an object in the sill as deterrent.

But, I'm allergic to cats, much as I find them eminently pettable.

er, just to clarify, the cat of the second paragraph is a different cat--small with black and grey markings. I don't know his name, but I might start calling him Batman due to his nocturnal ways.

So it wasn't an appearance *by* the executive producer, but an homage? This entertains me. Does he make wierd vocalizations too?

Oh dear God, Rygel and Scorpius as a team would be so worth paying attention to. They would destroy the universe, but it would be damn entertaining.

... actually, tell me that someone has written this. Seriously.

(also, omg I'm going to explode with glee if this show keeps getting better, seriously. It defies the laws of science fiction shows!)

(also, why have I only got John and Aeryn icons? I used to have Chi and Zhaan at least...)

Yes, homage; he's not an actor.

Does he make wierd vocalizations too?

Not that I've seen, but he is very funny in person. And a total geek.

You're totally making me want to do a rewatch. A local station is showing it in syndication, and I catch them now and again (when it's not preempted for sports), but it's just not the same as mainlining them via DVD, in order.

I am beginning to suspect that when I finish watching the episodes I'll have to get my hands on the Starburst editions so I can see all those extras and hear all those commentaries as well!

Plus, I think I'll get a lot out of rewatching the first few seasons, just knowing where they'll take those characters.

I love TV shows on DVD. LOVE. I think I hear of a Farscape community rewatching extravaganza in the works if you want to watch with company... (I think it was Astrogirl or Kernezelda I saw posting about it)

Netflix was made for watching TV shows on DVD. I can work through a set worth anywhere from $30 to over $100 in less than a month, for about $20 a month. I've been catching a lot of the shows from HBO and Showtime this way. Saves me a lot of money and I'm more willing to try things I'm iffy about.

The only problem is when I get to mainlining stuff so heavily that I almost OD on it. Hasn't happened yet, but I've come close. ;)

So sad to be allergic! I wish there was some non-toxic homeopathic remedy that would fix all of that all the time.

And heh, Like Skywalker. I love how they've decided your place is actually their place. Very cat like.
