That sound of panic you most certainly did not hear this weekend was a near disaster with my computer. Thankfully, the problem was solved with a $40 part, and not a $500 logic board (or worse--a new computer).
Not, obviously, that I wouldn't love a new computer, if it was offered to me in a lottery-type windfall.
I feel it's important to point out to the universe, though, that I would greatly prefer not to have to handle any more major changes for the next, oh, six months. I have enough to be going on with for the moment, I feel, with applying for jobs and likely an out of state move at minimum.
This is the part where I attempt to return to a normal breathing pattern.

I could use a little settling time, to be honest. This is bypassing 'change' status and verging on 'chaos' at this point. That shit is not on.
