while you're falling apart

Really, really good things that happened this past week:

1. the Boy. I think I could be in serious danger of falling in love with him.

2. Rob Thomas and his need for writing songs containing the lyrics "Just let me hold you/while you're falling apart", and on a similar note, Coldplay's recent theme of fixing whatever is wrong in your soul is also speaking to me.

3. Icons (see the pretty from [livejournal.com profile] paian? Thank you, paian), stories, e-cards, general loveliness from online friends. You do realize that I love you, right? And I am so grateful for your presence and your stories and your witness in general to the importance of letting things touch you and recognising how vibrant life still is.

4. M*A*S*H*, and Saving Private Ryan, for nice perspective. Perspective is an interesting thing, isn't it? Makes you wonder how people get through wars. The idea of a soldier-doctor is a really interesting paradox. How the hell do you do that? A good reason to continue to work for peace, IMO, as death alone is heartbreaking to me; I don't know if I could survive watching so many die needlessly and young and return even a shadow of the person I am now. And that's if I were perfectly whole and safe the entire time.

5. Good friends, good movies and really good spicy margaritas. I may need that recipe. Definitely love that friend.

6. Pets, [livejournal.com profile] jenlevs stories of her beautiful horse that reminds me of my floppy marvelous dingbat puppies. And unconditional love. And fics where people live happily ever after, or at least until they tumble into bed a few more times. And satirific fics that combine both puppies and people falling into bed and I have proof that Sid was mostly kidding, and OH, she made me laugh.

7. Dancing. See also #1 (above).

8. Betaing. Because I get to read fics and people actually want my opinion on stuff. It's almost as satisfying as writing, but much less work. Shout out to [livejournal.com profile] beckymoster. Thanks for letting me beta your stuff. Makes me happy.

And all of you, thanks. Hugs, cuddles and love available as you prefer.
.

OMG. I am so in LUV with Rob Thomas. He is the musical equivalent of my Stargate obsession. December 5th cannot get here fast enough. That's when he'll be in town for his concert. I'm seriously crossing my finger for front row seats. OMG I would die if I got them, though. So, that means I won't, obviously. And that song is such a Jack/Daniel song, it's scary. I mean, I may just have to vid it, really.

OK. I'll stop my gushing now. :-)

OMG, I've been thinking the same thing since I first heard that song. We should collaborate! ;-)

And {{{{Minx}}}}. Yay for boy! :D

Oh, please vid that song! I love that song and I love Jack/Daniel, so really it's perfect.

And, I saw Rob Thomas in concert (Yay for concerts that start on the Left Coast!) and he was AMAZING. Played for 2 and half HOURS without a break, was charming, was incredibly musical... Loved, in particular, that he played 5 songs in the encore alone, including the song he played for my city and will play for no others. Mine! *snuggles song*

{{{hugs}}} That boy, I tell you. He is messing with my head. *boggle*

*leaves to go dancing with Boy*

TWO AND A HALF HOURS?!?! OMG!!!!!!! SQUEE!!!!!!!!!! Did he do any MB20 stuff or just all his new solo stuff? Tell me everything!! :-)

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_minxy_/ 2005-11-14 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
Um, everything? Don't you think that's kind of personal? Just kidding, he played not only I think the entire Something To Be album along with covers and Matchbox 20 songs. I remember in particular when they played 'Blame' I kept looking at the Boy during the intro and saying "Is that? Is... that...? It is! OMG" But yeah, 2 and a half hours, baby, he played all kindsa stuff.

We did it! Almost, we got it worked out. Just need to put it together now. :-)

#4 - M*A*S*H is very similar to SG-1 - can't cure cancer or the like but time spent watching it is never wasted. Alan Alda rocks.
Not to mention that chevron guy and Radar are really the same guy... or they're twins.

The world needs more Father Mulchays! He always struck me as a true man of God. Oh and Hank Landry has been taking lessons off Sherman Potter;)

As you might have guessed - bit of a fan;)

#8 - awww shucks!;) I'm v. proud of the story you still have ('Picture perfect'?). Though I gotta admit, it's the other way around for me - dealing with stuff sent back from beta is harder than writing the damn story in the first place... *sigh* which might explain why it takes so damn long for me to post anything!

I must work on that;)

Aw shucks yourself. Picture perfect is inspiring quite a lot of beta-blathering (note the difference between that and beta-correcting)... is there a better way for me to comment than in the fic? I can, if you prefer, make the changes in the fic and then send you an email with it 'splaining why... but that seems so presumptuous that you'll take all the suggestions.

And that right there, is that a gauntlet I see? I challenge thee! You post something by the time I get this THIRD beta'd piece back to you! There 'tis.

And, I'm at least a third of the way through it, so get crackin!

(that is, you know, if you feel like it.) *G*
