Brokeback Mountain and orphan titles

Ang Lee and Brokeback Mountain have won the Venice Film Festival. *sigh* Come December, we will all know why, I hope, if they release the movie as widely as the ought to do. Ang Lee takes top prize at Venice Yay!

In other news, with a punk computer and a title-less story, I've been word-watching lately. What follows is a list of cool sounding titles for sale. The challenge is to use one of them to write an SG-1 or so-hot-Minx-won't-notice-it's-not-SG-1 fanfic, manip, drabble or whatever. If the plot bunny hijacks the story, and the title no longer fits, but it started there and maybe you can work it into some dialog or something in the middle, so be it. It's about the inspiration, tell me about it anyway, kay?

-Long Way Back
-Angel, Falling
-The Careful Skill of Quiet Thrills
-Stop/Pivot
-Maybe Love
-In Anticipation Of A New Lover's Introduction
-Things Remembered When Dreaming
-Waking Light
-Someones Lover
-You Broke Me

And, I'm quite serious. New computer won't arrive for a week and a half, MINIMUM, so I shan't be writing, and I shall only limpingly be reading, so surprise me when I get back and I'll be your best friend. *hugs*

And what is wrong with writing the old-fashioned way? Hmmm? Old pencil (or pen) and paper? I've been doing that the past week, trying to flesh out some story details for my graphic novels. Oddly, when I pick up one to work on, I get ideas for the other. It gets confusing. :p

Have you *seen* my handwriting???

Okay, you probably haven't, but lets just say, it fully supports all stereotypes of doctors and handwriting. And, I figure, if other people have that much trouble reading it (ooh, you should see the looks I get at Christmas when gifts go to the wrong people due to misread of tag) I'm doooomed.

I'll draw the old fashioned way, but that's about all. *g* RL has been demanding, anyway.

Hmmmm... you been reading any Iain M. Banks? It's just that some of those titles sound like the names of the Minds that populate his 'Culture' novels.

If you've seen any 'Andromeda' - the Minds are AI on waaaaay too much caffine!! Think of the 'Wrath of Achilles' being more CJ than Teal'c and you have a Mind.
Highly recommended author. 'Excession' is v.good.

As for the story ideas - I shall keep them in mind. Currently the muse is... frak only knows where - he and I are having a MAJOR crisis in confidence (I think I've been due one for about a month... so it's no real surprise) over our ability to write anything.
It's not a plea for ego stroking... just that I don't know what I'm looking for... don't mind me;)

::soothes you::

Sometimes relationships need a little space. Sounds like you two were pretty close, so he'll realize he loves you and want to get back together and commit... and what? What were we talking about? Oh, you have a MALE muse, eh? I suppose that's appropriate for a slash writer. Me, my muses thrive on neglect, to the point where I have no idea what gender they are... could be different muses, for all I know.

Am a muse-hOr. *G*

Just the one muse and he's a guy. Always has been a guy - there is no doubt a very good reason behind this but my id is not telling me! *sigh*. Personal theory is that I'm more likely to be his biatch that way;)

Shallow, weak and easily manipulated... that's me! And I couldn't neglect him - nuh uh. Writing is like reading, movies and SF tv - necessary to good health! Or at least for me;)

Nice MS icon btw - I'd reccie the film to you. 'Door to Door' - he looks adorable in blood red and isn't in it long enough!:( (I saw it when I had 'flu earlier in the year) but still very good.

I broke down and got a permanent journal for the icon lurve. I'm weak like that. Can't resist the pretty... *flashes new icon at you*

And if you write something, feel free to email me if you are still skeered to post. Just let me know if you're sending for beta or if you are sending the final. I'm nightlight43-at-yahoo or you can find me through Pepe's list.

Oh, meant to say: haven't read your author and haven't seen the film, but will look into them. RL is chaotic and packed lately, and I'm entrenched in Queer As Folk on DVD atm (and the early Stargates, which are my favorites) but I'll get them on a list somewhere.... *g*

mmm fun challenge..

Guess this won't be one of those fics with a 'not work safe!' warning on it, then? *g*

YAY! Write! Write little valkyrie! *hears 'Flight of the Bumblebee' music*
