I struggle with that sometimes. I think it still shouldn't come easily, even if it isn't frightening. With Daniel, though, they've known each other long enough and they've talked through enough stuff that he would know how important it would be to try.

And for me, Daniel's cluelessness and insecurity to some degree trumps Jack's (former) reticence.... but that's just me. *G*
