If you want to play, you can write your remix in the MONTH you'll have before you go hiking, and post any time to the comm--the post will be unscreened on reveal day and you'll be added to the masterlist. I'll also happily give a heads up to your remixer that you'll be offline for several weeks so feedback will be late.
